Well although we are all still on nil points we are far from equal now with losses for Hewitt, Muller, Anderson, Querrey and Ferrero and as I had 4 of them I suspect I may be in the worst position.

By the way Sweeting has replaced Mayer in the Gasquet line

Oh dear - great start for me - I'm not far behind you Yorkie

Yorkie
11-01-2012, 06:34
Well we have another day of fallers in Sydney there is Isner, Sweeting, Lopez and Troicki and Bogmolov are just coming to the end of their first set on serve looking like it will be a tie breaker. So Gasquet, Del Potro and the winner of the last match are the only players left who can score for anyone.

In Auckland its no so bad from the first 4 matches at least where Chela is the only relevant faller and Almagro and Kohlscreiber are through to round 3. At the moment Ferrer looks like he will justify our total faith in him as he is 4-1 up in the second having won the first set, but Bellucci is in a tight one at 5-5 in the decider. Verdasco is yet to start.

By the way J - Golden Lady has lost her Sydney finalist pick of Querrey

Edit - Ferrer did justify us winning easily and Bellucci could not make it across the line bringing more red to our chart. Bogomolov has also started what would be good damage limitation for me by winning the first set against Troicki but it looks like it will be a tight one on serve in the second

-J-
11-01-2012, 07:40
Bogomolov takes it in two, adding another swatch of red

Don't think I have any hopes........

Actually you are still a potential winner of this competition as you have an unusual choice in Gasquet as your Sidney winner though it would probably require all the other picks else to lose pretty much as soon as possible certainly not getting Ferrer as the winner of Auckland given Gasquet is not your player of the week. Where as I really do have no chance of victory because all my unusual picks have already fallen and someone has to score every time I can plus the winner of Almagro v Kohlschreiber which is the only match so far where points are 100% guaranteed to be scored.

:sofa:

EDIT: Baggy won 7'6, 6'4.
That'll have mucked up the Yatzy good and proper!
Benny v Boggy up on livescore ... is this J's moment to leap to the front of the pack?
;)

Yorkie
12-01-2012, 11:55
so J could be the only scorer in Sydney however Boggy has lost the first set

Rain has cut short the day in Auckland neither the Verdasco or Ferrer match were played. So both will face 2 matches tomorrow if they win their quarters and Verdasco even is down for 2 matches in the doubles as well!!

Yorkie
12-01-2012, 13:50
So J fails to make his mark on this event and Sydney turns completly red with a Bogomolov loss.

Linda looks to be the favourites for this event and I believe she can not be beaten but we could easily have joint winners if Kohli loses his next match and Verdasco wins one or if Ferrer decides to lose his next matcch.

-J-
12-01-2012, 19:56
sorry there has been some confusion regarding the rules for this comp, its a bit late now but for future reference here is the specific ruile you should all take note off

Auckland 250 (http://www.heinekenopen.co.nz/)

1) for each tournament (there are two this week) you must predict all semi finalists, finalists and winner
2) You get to pick a player of the week (potw), who will score double points for you.
3) Entries Must be in before start of play

dont think so Linda if ferrer now loses you and lankster would pick up point for a koli keeping you ahead but he has him going a round further so if koli won the final he wins overall

Sorry J but I think you should be losing some company and giving Lankster another 10 points as Lankster predicted 2 of the semi finalists.

So we will end with a 5 way tie though with Ferrer winning the first set against Verdasco it could still be tomorrow before the final points are sorted. Though the way our predicting has gone I would not be surprised by a Verdasco come back to wipe us all out.

Edit - Ferrer at least stops the wave of red heading forward any further by beating Verdasco. Oh dear where does that leave J now?

Linda
13-01-2012, 09:38
Kohli and Verdasco both out. Only Ferrer left in.

Unfortunately YATZY does not get enough entries to make it appropriate to be in CofC.

-J-
14-01-2012, 21:20
there where 13 people took part in the last yatzy, and a little look back the highest i could find is 15, for coc purpose that would mean 66% - 70% of entrants score where as for every other contest its over 20 which means less people score than do
