Yay, it's time for some of my favourite Smileys!!!

Team GB's mixed curlers still doing very well. 3 won and 1 lost. No team has had 4 wins and no losses.
Italy are 4 and 0.
Yep, either the commentator who I heard that from was wrong or some teams had not played their some matches.
They won against Czech Rep his morning so UK are 4-1 and in third place over all. Italy are now 5-0. GB play Italy at 12.05 pm today.
Have eventually found the round robin results. https://olympics.com/beijing-2022/olympic-games/en/results/curling/round-robin-standings-mixed-doubles.htm
Italy just too good. Team GB really need to win the rest of their games now.
Another defeat aginst Norway, but other results mean that Team GB will qualify if they win their last match aginst the already eliminated Team USA. Jen Dodds' form has really dropped off in the last few games.
In fact, by virtue of Team GB and Norway both having beaten Sweden in the round robin, they are both guaranteed to finish above Sweden and so have qualified.
Canada lost to Sweden and so have to win against unbeaten Italy to qualify.
Just hope GB do not meet Italy in the semis.
Team GB beat the USA 8-4 and finish 3rd, and will face 2nd place Norway at 12.05 today for a place in the gold medal match.
Italy stole a 1 in the extra end to beat Canada 8-7, eliminating the Canadians in the process. Italy play Sweden in the other semi.
Team GB literally chucked that away...
Next up is a bronze medal match against Sweden tomorrow morning.
From bad to worse for Team GB, 8-1 down at the halfway stage.
Shook hands after 6 ends, a 9-3 defeat and 4th place. Both Jen and Bruce wil be hoping for much better in the main curling events.

loved watching the Women's ice hockey. don't enjoy the US or Canada matches so much as they are so one sided, except when they play each other, but they are far better than almost all of the other teams. But have enjoyed the effort the other teams put in.
Italy go through the tournament unbeaten for a thoroughly deserved gold in the mixed curling.

Loving the snowboard cross today (mixed) no one hurt and very exciting!
I love the snowboard cross too - and the ski cross. It was such a shame Charlotte Banks got impeded and didn't make it through to the semis and final on Wednesday.
Down to the final sessions of the curling round robin, and the GB men have safely qualified for the semis, where they will almost certainly play Canada.
For the women to qualify, they need to beat the ROC, and also need Japan and Korea to lose after both scraped wins in today's session. A loss for Canada would help too. Switzerland and Sweden have already qualified.

Hopefully at least a medal for GB somewhere, did not usually take this long even if the Winter Olympics more challenging.
There have been a lot of winter athletes injured and not competing, e.g. in the snowboard and ski slopestyle which doesn't help. Charlotte Banks was unlucky - if it hadn't been windy and slow conditions that day it would probably have been a different story - apparently at that bend where she got impeded, she was affected by a strong gust of wind too.
I watched an interview on Eusosport with Greg Rutherford this morning and he was explaining why GB is not doing so well and it partly comes down to a lack of funding and also lack of snow and mountains and facilities in UK. I should think the pandemic did not help when there were lockdowns.
Did long jumper Greg Rutherford explain his expert knowledge of winter sports?

Britains men beat Canada to top the group, but it's the USA they will face at 12.05 today in the semis. This is interesting because USA were the only team to beat Team GB in the round robin.
The curling gods have smiled upon the Team GB women!
Japan and Korea lost, and that meant that Team GB, Japan and Canada had to be seperated by the draw shot challenge, which saw Canada eliminated.
It also meant that Team GB finished third, so will face second placed Sweden in the semis tomorrow, and we are guaranteed a shot at a medal in both.
Very tense in the men's semis, Team GB lead 5-4 after 6 ends.
Yes! Team GB guaranteed either gold or silver in the men's curling.

Great news, well done to Bruce and Team! Valieva only 4th in figure skating final after a few falls, though heard the winner Anna Shcherbakova shares the same coach.
Excellent news! I had to miss the curling semi, but might watch on catch up later.

Greg is now a bobsleigher, but just missed out on an olympic place. He knew a lot about the financial problems etc bobsleighers were going through.
Danger of Team GB women's curlers semi final being over after the first end...
...But a smashing 3 on the second end reduces the damage.
5-5 at the halfway point.
Oh my days... Team GB take a 4 in the 9th end to lead 11-8 going down the last...
Unbelievable!! Another end!! :nailbiter: At least we have the hammer.
Sweden reverse the opening two ends and take a 3... So this is going to an extra end. Team GB have the advantage of the last stone.
Japan await in the final after they shocked the Swiss.
:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: Into the final!! (Sunday morning wee sma' hours}

Tense but great win for GB women in the end, well done!
oh really that's annoying
Last day of the Games, need to get everything finished for the Closing Ceremony.
oh really that's annoying
Why is it annoying?
Why is it annoying?
It's in the middle of the night!
Tremendous match from both teams, be a long day tomorrow to watch both finals but needs must.
Something special needs to happen in the men's final, the scoreline is still close but the Swedes appear to be in control.
The final end... Team GB need 2 to take gold.
Only the one... So an extra end but Sweden have last stone.
Bruce Mouat’s last stone is off target, and it’s silver for GB.

Well done to they guys, close and silver is great! Looking forward to the girls match tomorrow
Good start for Team GB with a two in the first end.
Team GB steal a 1 in the 5th and go into the break leading 4-1.
A massive four in the 7th end for GB and it's 8-2... This is done! A minimum of 8 ends in the final so this could be over shortly...
Just a 1 in the 8th for Japan, but they decide to keep going...
Can't blame them I suppose, possibly their only ever Olympic final. Eve and co made it look easy tonight. Although I did doze off and missed the 4 but presumably that end was easy too :rolling::rolling:
:yahoo: Well done to the Golden Girls!:gold:
Brilliant!!! I'll enjoy watching later!

Really been hooked on the curling during the Olympics. Some great skills shown and it is such an intense battle.. Well done GB for a Silver and a Gold. Shame we don't get to see it at any other time.
