It's being reported that Andy is going to have Dani Vallverdu with him in Rotterdam and for a few weeks after. Nice for Andy to have with him a friend and somebody who was part of the 2012-13 winning circle.

Yes, it's probably because Bublik won his Final in Montpelier on Sunday. Winners have to stick around to give longer press etc.
For ATP250/500s it's quite often back to 5 matches over 5 days if you want to win the title (R1 Wed, R2 Thu, QF Fri, SF Sat and Final on Sunday!!!)

Shapovalov lost in R1 to #137 Jiri Lehecka 6-4, 6-4.
First ATP win for the Czech player.
Shapovalov blames the court: "Every single bounce is different ... WHO MAKES A COURT LIKE THIS??"

Well done Felix for winning 6-4 6-2.

One strange thing though, both semifinals (Tsitsipas 4-6 6-4 6-2 and Felix 6-7 6-4 6-2) and the final (6-4 6-2) have scores ending in 6-4 6-2. The semis were 3 setters, while the final was a 2 setter though.

Congratulations Felix!!!
:trophy:

His game has come on in leaps and bounds over the last 12 months and that was a well played win over Tsitsipas.

That was pretty convincing from Felix as he took 1st Atp title in 9th final, well done! Of course Andy and Cameron lost to the champion. https://www.atptour.com/en/news/felix-tsitsipas-rotterdam-2022-sunday

How many times recently has Andy lost to the eventual winner!
Felix is someone to watch right now!

So Andy's 6-3 6-4 loss does not look such a poor result after all!

A couple of years ago I thought Tsitsipas and FAA were going to be the next superstars of the game. Gone off both drastically - Tsitsipas has a beautiful game but arrogant personality, Felix seems like a lovely person but his increased power has made his game boring. Didn't watch the final and that's very unusual for me. Shame.

Yes, Andy losing to overall winner again. Can lose a match after playing well (Cam), can lose after playing poorly  (tho good news is a respectable scoreline on a subpar day whereas not much more Cam could have done). No wonder Andy wants a permanent coaching arrangement sorted asap, he knows he had the potential beating of the overall champ and precious pts.
