Andy has a Wildcard into Rotterdam and he'll have an interesting Round 1 encounter.
He'll play Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan, WR35 (CH34 in Sep), who is due to play a semi-final in Montpellier tomorrow.
The H2H is 1-0 with Andy winning 6-1 6-4 6-2 in R1 at Wimbledon in 2017.
Whoever wins will play either Auger-Aliassime or Q/LL.
Amazon Prime are covering this event + other broadcasters who I've not yet looked up.

Good luck to Andy. From Monday, he will be back in the top 100 for the first time since 2018. Hopefully that will put a spring in his step.

Bublik has many complaints about the light conditions. Both have had to save break points. 3-3.

A break each - tiebreak!
I am no longer confident about tie breaks.
Andy takes the tb (8 -6) and the first set - great stuff!! :yahoo:

Fantastic match. Big win over very aggressive server, Andy at his best since Sinner imo. Good serving, *outstanding* movement, clinical finishing, extremely dialled in whole match. Superb. He's playing with a new, bigger more powerful racquet - can't be easy to change after 20 years so maybe this has played a part in some disappointing results this year, where serving let him down. Worth persevering though, as will put several mph on Andy's serve in the long run, the bedrock of more attacking tennis he says wants to play.
And credit to Bublik the risk taker for his part in a very enjoyable match.
Keep going Andy! :cheer:
Up to 87 in the live rankings.
That was a nice treat for us tonight, Andy getting the job done in straight sets. Was very happy with his performance esp in set 2 after a very tight first set. Delighted for him. And great crowd support too. Creates a positive atmosphere.

Great win.
I was really quite stressed - trying to eat dinner whilst jumping about. This guy is good.
My dog is 3 and unlike the others we had who had years of me shouting when Andy was playing, this one isn’t used to it!
I agree with RB - Andy played really well. Great to see. Much more aggressive.
Needs to keep this up now going forward.
Is this change anything to do with who is sitting in his bench now?

Yes Dani
What's he been doing since Berdych?
What's he been doing since Berdych?
He is currently coach for Wawrinka who is out of action at the moment, so has been temporarily borrowed.

Great match! Well done Andy :jitterbug: great movement and no pain :grouphug:
Bring it on!
Great match. I was watching the replay on Amazon and have to admit that when Andy was broken I fastforwarded thinking it was curtains for Andy in the first set and possibly the match. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw he'd taken the set 7-6 so I had to rewind. Must give myself a severe talking to about lack of faith!
