Great win and bit of a shock as Vesley puts out Djokovic 6-4,7-6(7-4), looked like it might turn when Novak broke back in 2nd and a resut Medvedev will be no1 next week. A bit surprised Sinner only took 6 games from Hurkacz.

I think Jiri Vesely is quite brilliant. Back in '16 when everyone else was saying Novak couldn't be beaten he said yes he can. Same today, despite being in the wilderness for ages. Plays the ball not the reputation. A fantastic gift to be able to do that.

Great match between Vesely and Denis S. 3 tiebreak sets. Denis served for it in the decider but it's JV who comes through the very entertaining battle to reach first 500 final - hope he can go all the way. He definitely knows how to keep his nerve, poor Denis on the other hand will be having nightmares about a couple of his shots, shame because he's a fantastic watch.

What a week for Jiri Vesely!!!

This week he has beaten Cilic, RBA, Djokovic & now Shapovalov. Well done Vesely!

Just to add that before this he hadn't beaten a top 25 player on hard courts in 4 years and had 0 top 50 wins in a year. Crazy! Hope he can ride this wave all the way to the trophy.

Vesely has been getting some good results over the last few months. His game is certainly more consistent and his serve is great.

Another great win for Vesley, I expected Shapovalov to come though and had chance to serve for it but the czech was so strong. Rublev did not get off to the best of starts so may have a shot in final if he has enough left.

Congrats to Andrey on winning the title, he played really well but it wasn't the best match as Vesely a bit of a spent force after his epic clash with Shapo yesterday. Still, well done to both.

Rublev certainly was impressive,well done! Vesely though was I think a bit weary but still done really well reaching final.
