Since then the fortunes of both have changed; Andy's rank is now around #85 whilst the Argentinian is up to #36.

Fingers crossed Andy can produce some magic later today and make it to R2.

Tight opening set but Andy put Delbonis under enough pressure and stepped up to take the set and finally able to break serve and now gets the double break for 4-1! Serve effective for the most part, not faced a bp and Delbonis ranked 36 (though not been in best form lately)

That was an impressive second set with Andy becoming increasing confident and one or two vintage shots near the end. The stats show Delbonis's second serve was a weakness. All the hard work I think was done in the first set! ;)

What an impressive match from Andy! New courts here so grainy they're like clay and Andy's just undone a seasoned South American dirt baller. Cool, calm, positive, laser focus - absolutely no skitty energy. Could almost feel the difference through the TV. Love it. Plus super efficient so plenty in the tank for you know who in the next round. Forget dodgy IW that Andy has always hated and always will, this was the first glimpse of Ivandy chapter 3 and it's going to be good :boogie:

The first 2 points of the match were both 27 strokes. Andy won both. Sent a strong message that he was going to beat Delbonis at his own game :thumbup: Thankfully Andy was able to take control and shorten some points though - good aggression
