Really pleased to have Thiem back. Would be a cracking match a while back but Domi hasn't played for a year and not expecting Andy to be pin sharp either. Hopefully they can still make it a good match, with Andy coming out on top obvs.

Okay so this is a dream match isn't it!? The above reasons should even the guys out so hopefully we'll still get a great match and Andy and Dom will just love it! Cannot wait.

Thiem not been in great form since he came back but early days and obviously capable of stepping it up, hopefully Andy will find his feet on the clay and play well.

Much higher quality match than I thought it might be. Have to acknowledge that Domi well below his best but Andy was dazzling given he hasn't played for weeks. Very composed when tested on serve. Even better than the win is hearing the stats - shotspeed and serve as good as his peak. That feels like a miracle. Hoping for a deep run as Andy clearly feels very good, high alt conditions suit him well and confidence/clarity from being back with IL already on show.
Every positive wish to Domi for a return to his best, the tour badly misses his thrilling play.
Andy over the moon with the win, rightly so. Breathtaking play at times.
"Keep going" Andy says to Domi at the net. Oh bless. If anyone knows a thing or two about perseverance and overcoming it's our Andy.

A really impressive performance from Andy with his first match on clay for a few years, se4ve was particularly effective. obviously was not near Dom's best level but on the comeback trail and he still made Andy work for it at times. Thiem should get going in due course and positive signs for Murray.

Had to watch that on delay - some impressive and encouraging play by Andy and a lovely exchange at the net. Feels like a nice wee bonus as we weren't expecting to see him until the grass.

Well that was a fabulous match.
Andy looked very confident and I felt he was going to win despite the rallies and great shots from Thiem.
Great to be able to see Andy again!
