Ten men playing, hoping for a win

There'll be nine men playing, hoping for a win

But if one man tumbles and heads towards the bin
There'll be eight men playing, hoping for a win
The aim of the competition is to forecast the order the top 8 seeds will fall
and to make up the 10
to select two other players you think will win the most matches.




Here's what you need to know and have to do:-

1. The deadline for entry is the start of the first Mens singles match at the AO 2012.

2. Predict the order in which top eight seeds fall
Please note it is the round that the seeds fall that counts and if two or more players go out in same round they are deemed to have gone out at the same time. So if for example 2 of the top 8 seeds lost in round 1 you would score points for having one of these players as your first or second to fall and you would score for both if they were your first 2 to fall which ever order you put them in.

Any player withdrawing from a match either before it starts or during the match will be deemed to have lost in that round.

3. Pick a Joker
You have to pick a Joker outside the top eight seeded players and from any of the remaining players in the main draw whether by direct entry or by qualification or wild card. The higher the seeding number is the more points your Joker will score for you each time he wins and you get most points per win if you pick a non seed.

4. Choose your Wildcard
Finally you need to pick a Wildcard who must be a player ranked 70 or over on the ATP entry ranking system at the time of the draw for the event (9th January 2012). The higher their ranking the more points your Wildcard will score for you each time he wins.

5. Scoring
Top eight seeds scoring

You score 50 points for each correct placing of the order to fall of the top 8 seeds.
If your last two named players both reach the final you get 50 points bonus.
If your final named player wins the tournament you get 50 points bonus.

Joker and Wildcard scoring

8 points for every match won by a Joker seeded 9-16 and/or a Wildcard between 70-80 [ATP Ranking],
12 points for every match won by a Joker seeded 17-24 and/or a Wildcard between 81-90 [ATP Ranking],
15 points for every match won by a Joker seeded 25-32 and/or a Wildcard between 91-110 [ATP Ranking],
20 points for every match won by a Joker who is not seeded and/or a Wildcard 111 or over [ATP Ranking]

If your Joker and/or your Wildcard gets to the final you get 50 points bonus for each and if either wins the final another 50 points bonus.

6. Tie Break Rules
In the event of scores being level the following tie break rules apply.
The winner from those tied will be:

1) The person whose final pick progresses the furthest in the tournament
2) If still equal the person whose Joker gets the most points
3) If still equal the person whose Wildcard gets the most points
4) If still equal the person whose 7th pick to fall progresses the furthest in the tournament
5) If still equal the person whose 6th pick to fall progresses the furthest in the tournament
If required this is continued for the 5th pick to fall, then the 4th pick to fall and so on to the 1st to fall
and if still equal then the competition is tied.
