Surprised to see Jabeur beaten so early. Weight of expectation perhaps, as one of the favourites.
Harriet Dart slips to a fairly tame 6-0 6-2 defeat to Maria Trevisan.

And out goes [2]Krejcikova too!
Beaten by French player Diane Parry in 3 sets.
Surprised to see Jabeur beaten so early. Weight of expectation perhaps, as one of the favourites.
She said she wasn't happy starting the tournament on the main court and it being so early on a Sunday.

Maybe Naomi isn't as motivated by the chance to gain points as she claims here... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/61553327

Raducanu a set down to Noskova and it's 5-5 in the 2nd set .....

Emma finally takes 2nd 7-5, has been bit of a struggle though, even if Noskova has impressed at times. jabeur probably biggest surprise thus far really,Amisova has proved tricky for Osaka before but Naomi did have chances. Whilst certainly did not expect Krejcikova to go out so early she has not played since February.
Phew. Emma wins the third set 6-1. :cheer:

Great fightback from Emma against a fellow teenager on the tour!

A gritty performance from Emma to come through, well done! Still looked tight in the early stages of the 3rd but Emma was able to step up to gain control.

Well done Emma! One of her best matches of the year - mentally strong, cleverly worked out her opponent and had the stamina to see it through. Keep going Emma, but a positive match whatever happens next. Really enjoyed it.

Great finish by Emma. Kept fighting and turned it around. Hope she can go well into the tournament.
Had my doubts she would pull that off.
Was sorry to see Heather go out. However she at least has her Wimbledon Mixed Doubles Trophy to console her.

Well done Coco, into the final! Would love her to go all the way - don't give her much chance against the Iga machine, but you never know.

Big congrats to Iga but, oooft, a tough one for Coco. Didn't give her much of a chance but hoped it might be a bit closer. Was totally in Iga's hands. Only times I've seen Iga flustered this year were against Emma in Stuttgart who got an impressive 8 games despite being a novice on the clay and Zheng here - both were able to take the ball as early as Iga and give her a small taste of her own medicine.
Hope Coco isn't too upset, she has a great future ahead of her.
Poor Coco. She is in tears trying to do her speech.

Iga was formidable and was pretty much in control throughout, Coco seemed tight in the early stages but did not seem a lot she could she do to put the world no1 under pressure. A bit of dip when she was 2-0 down in the 2nd but soon found another gear and Gauff could not respond. A tough experience for Coco but she should learn from it, Iga was also a bit emotional.
Samsonova also took Swiatek to a 7-5 deciding set in the Stuggart semis after she had beaten Emma.
