Thought Andy lost a bit of focus in that last set. Was hoping for a straight sets win.
Hopefully he’ll up his game in this third set

Certainly a disappointment, felt Andy could have won in 2 but Kudla the stronger in the decider. Still got a few matches in and hopefully will make progress in Stuggart (if he wins opener would face winner of Bublik and Kudla)
Shame. He has done really well in tiebreaks. Still he has picked up a few more ranking points, and got match practice in.

I don’t get that loss - he was so strong and confident this week - and then was playing too conservatively in the second set - I had to leave for most of the third but it looked more of the same. His serve had dropped from being very strong to much more flakey.
Yes I get that he has had more practice and as long as he isn’t injured he needs to win tournaments so both he and other players feel he is a force to contend with not someone who can be tough to play or not depending on the day and mood.

Didn't watch so can't comment but while obviously a final would have been nice not overly bothered. Pre-Wimbledon warm ups are always notoriously tentative; players keen for grass experience but desperate to avoid injury on greasy, fresh lawn. With Wimbledon round the corner it's probably better to get matches playing a couple or 3 rounds against easier oppo in many tournaments than battle hard to go deep in fewer events. Probably why Andy added Surbiton and Stuttgart.

He certainly was annoyed with himself - there was a lot of racquet thumping.
Maybe this particular surface isn’t easy for him to play on - or similar to Wimbledon - there was some talk earlier in the week with Andy about the surface

Andy’s verdict - glad to hear he doesn’t sound too bothered - conditions were brutal he said!

I was very disappointed about Andy not making the final, especially after the way that he'd played.
