Disappointing but inevitable. Beginning to think I’m jinxing him - withdrew from Shanghai when I went, the AO in the only year I went and Queens probably on the only day I am going when for once it’s not going to rain. However, there are Brits playing and it’s still going to be a great day of tennis.

So disappointed for Andy and I'm not really worried about watching it now. I probably will but this just brings it home, how horrible Andy must feel if our disappointment is anything to go by.

I heard he'd pulled out while I was watching Liam Broady's match. I know he had hoped to be there. But, I heard earlier on radio five live, all being well he'll play an exhibition match next week at the Hurlingham Club.

Fingers crossed it is an injury that recedes very quickly. He was doing so well but not getting any younger.

did Andy injure himself in Stuttgart final, running over the sidelines to return the ball, and having to mount a step to the player's bench and then colliding with the bench which started to topple backwards.
unfortunate that the players benches were on a raised dias rather than level with court.
