Andy v. Cam Norrie is first up today on Center, so a 4pm BST start.

Andy pretty impressive as the set developed, not really the best from Cameron mind you.

Andy missed an easy volley on break point of game 1 in set 2 and ended up losing the game, but followed it up with a fine hold.

yes. very well.
Andy broken after missing a hatful of opportunities to break Norrie, and Cam will serve for the set.

Chance missed there but Cameron finding a way,hopefully Andy can regroup at the start of the 3rd.
Andy had 3 break points in game six, should really have taken the third one... He's 2 of 11 on break points. Norrie holds for 3-3.
Andy races to a love hold in game 7, 4-3*.
Andy starting to cramp up...
Andy hands Cam the break with a DF, and Norrie will serve for the match at 5-4.

Andy getting more treatment for cramp even although the match is over. He is in a lot of pain:sad:

Blast, this cramping is starting to become a problem for Andy:sad: l like Cam, but really wanted Andy to win
Whether these cramps are a conditioning issue or a nutrition issue, this doesn't bode well for the USO and best of 5 sets.
Is Andy likely to play Winston-Salem?

Andy was playing in this tournament to try to gain some ranking points, he is 47 needs to be 42 to be ranked at US open, does anyone know how many points he would have got for his win against Stan
So disappointed for him, as always when he loses, and would have loved him to get to round 3. Cam is my favourite no 2 in Brit single players and I felt bad at times rooting as strongly as I was for Andy who certainly had his chances to win it in 2 sets. And the cramping is becoming a real problem for Andy which is strange. So on to the Open and thinking how he is fixed for points, round 3 would have helped, and also worry about 5 sets for him. x

Here's the scoreline FWIW:
Cam Norrie beat Andy Murray 3-6 6-3 6-4.
You have to think that if Andy could have won that 2nd set he might have got off court before any cramping! (and won the match).
Sad about it. He fought so well.

A gutsy effort from Andy but feels ultimately like one that got away, the cramping issue is a concern. Hope he can get that sorted out, maybe he will have a night match to start at the Us Open. Cameron did not play his best tennis but credit for grinding out the win and obviously he has become very fit.
The first set was fairly easy on the heart and soul. Was loving Andy's play and I began to think he has a good chance at taking this match. Then, in sets 2 and 3, there were too many missed chances and the old cramp set in which kind of scuppered his, and our, hopes. I wonder will he take (or get) a WC into Winston Salem next week? Time Lendl was back on the scene too!!

I saw the first and third set - better play by Andy - he so nearly had this and that will annoy him.
On the other hand it’s great that he’s playing more aggressively and just a few more tweaks and perhaps now it will start to come together for him. It’s encouraging he was so close and competitive with Cam who is such a great player!
The cramping is such a worry - you can tear a muscle if you continue to play on so it’s important to manage this properly and then to prevent it.
He looked in a bad way after the match - not sure what he will be able to do.
He still hasn’t the ranking he needs to get seeded though has he?

Such a shame. I missed most of the 1st set but saw the rest. That volley he missed at the net on BP in the 2nd set proved costly in the end. The cramp is a concern especially as he'll have to play best of 5 in the USO
So Cam eases past Shelton (never heard of him!) easily. Pleased for Cam but can't help thinking it should have been Andy who would have done the same easily enough. x

That was very straightforward for Cameron but Shelton lacks the experience (even if he did put out Ruud).
Still sad - and mad - that if Andy had got passage into Round 3 as he deserved to, and then obviously into Round 4, think of the points gained - and what do points mean?? No justice in this world!! x
