What a win for Harriet Dart over World #10 Kasatkina!!!
:GBflag:
Halep beaten by a qualifier is the other shocker of the day.

Great win for Harriet, well done! pity about Simona, some shock!
I heard Harriet had won, on radio five live, just before they did the live commentary on the Serena Williams match. They're also doing live commentary on Emma Raducanu's match as well at about 12.20am tomorrow.
I watched the whole match. I really enjoyed it. Harriet deserved the win. She never gave up.

Pity for Emma but Cornet caused quite a few upsets, was worried when draw came out. Hoped would at least be closer though.

If Emma had managed to win the second set she would probably have won as Cornet was saying she was getting really tired halfway through the second set. But it was a very tough draw and windy conditions.
Rybakina the reigning Wimbledon champ was knocked out in the first round too.
It was a pity about Emma, as I also believed she would have won the match if she'd won the second set.
I admire Harriet Dart's grit, but I hope Nigel Sears is going to develop her game, - seems very one-dimensional. I don't think I've ever seen her play a 'touch' shot.

After a few upsets including Serena beating 2nd seed Kontaveit( even if that ranking does not reflect recent form) before bowing out in round 3 word no1 Iga Swiatek took 2nd slam this year and 3rd overall approaching her best form when it mattered. However unfortunately Ons Jaebur took a while to get going in her 2nd slam final ,had a bit of a flourish but probably left it too late (though she was two points away from a 3rd in the TB)
