King Charles 3rd will sound strange for some time to come. I can remember as a young child having just learnt to sing God Save The King when it was changed to God Save The Queen, that was early in 1952 and then the Coronation was in 1953. it seems like the Queen has just always been there.

We usually sing the national anthem at Davis Cup. So that will be God Save the King. Wow, that will be strange, eh?

Will have to see if the event is affected by the period of mourning and when the funeral is arranged for. This is normally 10-11 days after the death, 10 days would be Sunday 18th, so I'm guessing it will be the Monday at the earliest. But whether sport gets cancelled in the period of mourning is anyones guess.

One or two sporting events have already been cancelled (horse racing and a football match yesterday).

I am saddened to learn of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. For 70 years, her leadership, impact, and influence on the United Kingdom and the entire global community has been immense. I met her in 2010 at Wimbledon, and it was a special moment for me. She was the longest reigning British monarch in history, the only woman from the Royal Family to serve in the armed forces, and a respected leader around the world. She earned her place in history, and she will be missed.

My most respectful, sincere and deepest condolences to the Royal Family of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and to the British people for the pass of Her Majesty Queen Elisabeth II

I have to admit the news made me sob. I'm not sure why it affected me so deeply, as we knew it was coming, but I was a mess!!!

Although I have lived in the USA for over 20 years I am still a UK citizen and proud of the fact.

She is reunited with her true love. RIP Queen Elizabeth.

It may sound trivial in the circs but apart from the fact I can't quite believe she's gone (we were ill prepared... suspect it was known it was coming) I just can't imagine Xmas day without her speech :crying:

That's a long wait for dinner! When I was growing up we didn't open presents till after the Queen's speech! (Apart from Christmas stocking)

I have been very sad about it. It’s the end of an era. It represents major change, and we have had such a lot recently.

Princess Ann looks distraught- understandably. I feel for Charles. He is having to grieve in public.

I am glad she died with her boots on. She didn’t have to renege on her vow. It was getting to the point when the country was going to have to consider a Regent.

I am not religious and don’t believe in an afterlife, but I hope she is reunited in some form with Philip, her parents and sister.

God Speed our gracious Queen .

My son said he would be near Green park on his way back from site, last week, which meant nothing to us, he then explained it was the stop for Buckingham palace and was thinking of going round. I said he should but hubby thought it a bit pointless if only to see people, as he said, the Queen isn’t even there.

Craig went on ahead and turned up 5 minutes before Charles arrived as King for the first time, and had his walk about!

Craig hadn’t known any timeline as he is oblivious to everything when at work!

I've heard all disabled people, and anyone else who can't stand in the queue, are being allowed to go to Tate Britain to pick up a special wristband so they can jump the queue if they want to see the Queen's coffin in Westminster Hall.
