I was at the games on Wednesday and Friday.
I HAVE JUST TESTED POSITIVE. FOR COVID.
I was sitting next to Sutton Tennis on both days and Aimee (29_adjacent) yesterday. I was near the lady who has a holiday home in Rouen yesterday. I don't know her name. I'm going to send messages to those I know names for plus Sally who may be able to help with the others.
I was fine until this pm and I'm now back home .

Hi all
I have sent texts or emails to all those who were there on Friday and in close proximity to Rosalind. If you become symptomatic it's wise to take a Covid test.
The guidance after being in contact with someone who has tested positive is:-
"If you are a contact of someone with COVID-19 but do not live with them or did not stay in their household overnight, you are at lower risk of becoming infected."
The actions given below in blue are appropriate.
What to do if you are a close contact of someone who has had a positive test result for COVID-19
People who live in the same household as someone with COVID-19 are at the highest risk of becoming infected because they are most likely to have prolonged close contact. People who stayed overnight in the household of someone with COVID-19 while they were infectious are also at high risk. If you are a household or overnight contact of someone who has had a positive COVID -19 test result it can take up to 10 days for your infection to develop. It is possible to pass on COVID-19 to others, even if you have no symptoms.
You can reduce the risk to other people by taking the following steps:
avoid contact with anyone you know who is at higher risk of becoming severely unwell (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/people-with-symptoms-of-a-respiratory-infection-including-covid-19#higher-risk) if they are infected with COVID-19, especially those whose immune system means they are at higher risk of serious illness from COVID-19, despite vaccination (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-guidance-for-people-whose-immune-system-means-they-are-at-higher-risk/covid-19-guidance-for-people-whose-immune-system-means-they-are-at-higher-risk)
limit close contact with other people outside your household, especially in crowded, enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces
wear a well-fitting face covering made with multiple layers or a surgical face mask if you do need to have close contact with other people, or you are in a crowded place
wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use hand sanitiser
If you develop symptoms of a respiratory infection try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people and follow the guidance for people with symptoms.

Hi All, this is a separate thread for those who were at DC on Friday 16th Sept.
Thank you Rosalind for letting us know so quickly that you've tested positive for Covid.
Given the conditions of an indoor arena with so many people cheering like crazy it's no surprise that a virus has affected someone - and undoubtedly others too. There's no telling who had it unknowingly and passed it on and there's also a chance that Rosalind hasn't passed it on to any other AMFF'ers.
If you don't have symptoms but want the reassurance of a test then it's wise to purchase a LTF from a chemist in Glasgow. If you do have symptoms be aware that it could be an ordinary cold or 'flu or Covid so take action as appropriate.
It should not prevent anyone from attending DC tomorrow.

I was sat next to Rosalind on both days and have just produced a negative test result, but will continue taking tests for a number of days. However, despite the negative test result I'm not sure if I want to attend tomorrow. That's just my personal feeling, I accept that current guidelines shouldn't prevent me from attending. My judgement may be clouded by their being nothing at stake and me having a 200 mile drive home after the finish of play! I hope Rosalind and everyone else is ok

I'm glad to hear suttontennis is negative. I had had some contact with people on the days prior to Wed- just my normal life. At the airport and on the flight up I wore a mask as I thought the risk higher than normal and was doing what I could to keep safe myself . I could have picked it up in the arena on Wednesday. I also spent time with some Canadian tourists on a bus going to Loch Lomond etc on Thursday. They had been flying in prior to that. A lot of potential to catch it from travellers mixing with other global travellers but in the Thursday case, maybe too late to be passing it on by the Friday. I hope everyone else on ok.
Might be advisable to post this on the ‘who’s going’ DC thread as well? People might not look here if they are just looking for updates of what is happening in Glasgow.

Thanks Rosalind for letting us know. I was sitting behind you on Friday so will take any necessary precautions along with Nessie and partners. Hope you are feeling OK and recover quickly.
I think the reality is this virus is with us. The chances of picking it up in crowded areas is high. We all have to do our own personal risk assessment.
I contracted it on a cruise where, except for eating, I spent my time outside looking for whales.
Covid was mild for me, but the post viral effects are a bit of a pain.

How are we all today ? I tested negative again this morning so I'm attending today, for the singles at least. Hope no-one else is showing signs and everyone has a great day.

Negative result for me as well so on my way to the Arena now. Let’s hope Team GB can go out with a win today! :jitterbug::swingin:
I don’t have any tests with me but I’m fine and only had covid 2 months ago, so I will have increased immunity anyway
