Griekspoor in to Rotterdam after Andy pulls out to do another training block according to this. Ok, but he can't improve his ranking to seeding level if he doesn't play tournaments.

I believe so, I read he would be next if Korda pulls out

According to Darts Rankings Tennis Andy is down to play the following claycourt tournaments:

May 8th: Rome Masters 1000 (DA) into Main Draw (10th - 21st May) so Bordeaux is ???
.................................................. .......... Qualifying takes place 8/9th May.
May 15th: Bordeaux Challenger (DA)
May 22nd: none (there are ATP 250s in Geneva and Lyon)
May 29th: Grand Slam, Roland Garros (DA)

NB. Dan Evans is scheduled to play the same events as Andy.

DA - Direct Acceptance

Interesting - looks like Bordeaux is the backup to make sure he gets some matches in that week if he goes out early in Rome and then rest for the week before RG.

Pretty sure that Sally meant that he has a DA to the main draw.

I have edited my post so it's clear that he has a DA into the Main Draw.

I was annoyed on hearing the comments from Tim about Andy joining challengers events. He said they weren’t for the likes of Andy but a springboard for up and coming players. We know this in general but I feel most challengers would be happy to play Andy in order to gauge their own level!

Shame but it is best thing to do, focus on your best Slam instead of worse Slam (though he is pretty good on clay).

Maybe after Surbiton he might put in an appearance at Nottingham. Be a big attraction for the event, and mean he wouldn't need to go to S'hertogenbosch before Queens.

Looks as though tickets for Surbiton will sell like hot cakes ...
;)

Andy Murray has a wildcard in Surbiton, according to Laura Robson just now on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Can Andy gain enough points from these tournaments to get seeded at Wimbledon?
Or rather - could he earn enough points to get seeded?

In the live rankings Andy is 65th with 780 points. The person in 32nd position currently has 1135 so to guarantee a seeding, he would probably need to win Queens. Also he has 150 points to defend from Stuttgart last year and, at present, he is not entered for a tournament that week.

Would have put this under Queens but don't think there's a thread. Andy is playing doubles with Cam.

Andy has taken a wild card for Nottingham.
From Twitter:
Andy Murray has made his schedule decision for next week.
No Stuttgart.
He will play in Nottingham instead. Said the benefits were having less travel involved and the courts being more similar to Queen’s and Wimby.

I asked Steven if there were any stats on Andy v French players ...
... and of course he had them off pat!!!

Of course there is ;-) - take your pick!
@andy_murray (https://twitter.com/andy_murray) v France in singles:
7-0 in 20239-0 in Challengers since he lost to Carraz in Granby way back in 2005
14-1 at all levels since late August 2019
114-19 overall

(not sure which thread to put this on so this'll have to do!)

So, so happy to hear Andy has his name down for these tournaments! He must be raring to go and has taken such a close match, with a top ten player, as a positive as we should do even though we are always so disappointed when he loses. :jitterbug:
