Medvedev leads their H2H by 2-0 with wins in 2019 (Brisbane, R16) and 2022 (Miami, R64).
Andy will need to be on top of his game for this one ...

I will keep everything crossed for Andy. He's a different player from the one Medvedev met on the previous 2 occasions but nevertheless, watching yesterday's 2nd semi, this is a big ask. Medvedev is a machine.
Match won't be long.

Followed by a blink-and-you'll-miss-it hold from Medvedev.
Oh dear. Double break. Last service game from Andy somewhat sloppy methinks. Missed his best chance to break back with Medvedev rattled by a love game from Andy followed by being foot faulted himself.

Sloppy Medvedev gives Andy a break back and he holds for 3-4
First set was 6-4, Medvedev was a break up early in the second set, but Andy broke back and now leads 4-3*.
Is anyone else finding the Amazon camera work frustrating at times? Can't see some of the more exciting rallies/ shots properly!

Looked away there for a moment, was Andy 40-0 up?
Andy shouted at himself earlier for making poor decisions. I fear that's what happened in that last game plus first serve going awol. But my goodness Andy is playing well.
Medvedev will have another go...

That is good to hear, couldn't watch the match was following on live score, really hope he takes a lot of encouragement from this week, he is playing and moving so much better, all good signs. I see on live rankings Andy is now 52, so still a way to go before he can be seeded, but definitely looking good :thumbup:
It was always going to be a big ask. He has got 3 Qatar trophies. Just getting to the final was an achievement. If he can close out the earlier round matches quicker he will have a chance.
No title for Andy today, but wait, for me today was a bonus anyway! Andy gave me enough pleasure this week to last me quite some time. 5 whole matches in one week, he was getting much needed match play, he'll move up in the points table and should give him a shed load of confidence. So many positives. A great week. And finally, congrats to Daniil, not the worst player for Andy to lose to.

Not to be today and Andy could not find enough consistency but Medvedev was always going to be tough, still some careless play from Daniil at times but found the level when it mattered. Still a great week for Andy and certainly positives moving forward. Going the long route everytime though makes it challenging.

Obviously disappointing today, but how great it is to see Andy playing such a high level of tennis again and reaching a final. I am sure I wasn’t alone in starting to wonder whether he was ever going to manage it. I just enjoy watching him so much.
Saving all those match points this week! Does he hold the record for this by any chance? I think I am correct in saying he has saved 5 twice previously both times against Robredo. Robredo’s reaction at the net the 2nd time was very funny!
