View Full Version : DUBAI 2023 R1: Hurkacz v LL (Andy has withdrawn from Dubai)
Andy vs Hurkacz (8th seed)
Whisper it, but much as I’d like Andy to do well, I don’t think an early defeat here would be a bad thing. Would give him more time to prepare for IW and Miami.

Psst, let me whisper back to you, I sort of agree with you!

Andy has been replaced by a lucky loser in the Dubai draw

You got an earlier exit than you'd hoped for.
Says reason for withdrawal is ongoing hip injury but he has to say something and you couldn’t have a better excuse … pretty confident that’s all it is and that he just wants to rest ahead of the sunshine double.

Jinxed it
He looked fine in his match against Medvedev and very happy even with a loss. So hopefully it's more from a need for rest and practice than any significant injury.

He says he has a slight abdominal twinge.
Hopefully a rest will do the trick. Best to be safe at this point in time
