Finally, 2nd set to Andy 6-4 and truly don't know how the 3rd is going to pan out; only following on FS so no idea what's going on with the pair of them. Come on Andy you can do this. x

Fognini played some great tennis, but after last week I had high hopes for Andy in Rome

Disappointing though Foggy was certainly up for this, possibly may have been different had Andy won that 2nd set more convincingly. Still played some quality tennis though in tight encounter.

It was Fognini on clay in his 'home' country Italy and I'm comforted that it took 3 sets for him to beat Andy.
113 points to 102 ...

And yes, Andy is down to play the Challenger in Bordeaux starting next Monday 15th May.
All points a bonus if he wants to be a seed at Wimbledon (maybe even RollyG?) and 'escape'
a top player in the early GS rounds.

Disappointed Andy didn’t get that but Fabio is great on clay, when he wants to be, so no shame in a 3 set loss.

Andy was still annoyed at the line call and spoke to Mohamed straight away at the end. Ridiculous that this is still happening!
