It is one set all and 1-1 in the final set.

They have been playing for nearly 2 1/2 hours and the winner will have to play their quarter final match tonight.

Andy just held serve to love to edge up 3-2 in the decider.

Fritz had to work hard to win that match - he still has to play again today!

That was three hours of very high quality tennis. Just a pity that Andy had 0-40 in that final game but could not get one more point. Looking at him clutching his knee at the end, not sure what condition he would have been in if he had had a second match - Fitz's opponent strolled through 6-2 6-2 earlier.

Wonderful tennis. Andy always seems to throw a service game away rather than making the opposition work for it.
Hey ho. I feel Andy is playing better than ever.
It's so unfair for players having to play twice in one day. Not really going to make for the best viewing I fear.

Gripping match. Thought Andy was going to do it.
When he got his serve in it was fantastic but sadly losing his serve lost him the match.
Anyone else think he’s changed his serve slightly and this is why he’s double faulting more?

Can’t imagine playing in that humidity - surely they must get blisters?

pity Andy just edged out but a high quality encounter. A bit frustrating with the penultimate game and not capitalising at the end though, still positives moving forward.

It seems as though he just can’t quite get over the line with the the top 10/20 players. It must be so frustrating for him. I know it’s a game of fine margins……..

I was impressed by his play once he 'got going'. He did well getting that 1st set. Seems to me that his concentration lapses at times, - struggling to maintain the intensity needed.

And I was rather amused/bemused that most of the crowd wanted Murray to win. Fritz is US no1 & they want an 'old' Brit to win. Charisma, eh?

Was also interested to hear Andy recorded the Alcaraz v Djokovic match and has watched Alcaraz in particular. With hindsight I think it showed and for the better. He seemed much more aggressive and willing to come to the net. It was fine margins... just that poor service game.
