The other one stopped working.
I received a text message, last Friday, telling me to book my flu vaccine for the 16th of next month. So, I went to my doctor's surgery on Monday and told the receptionist that I'll be in Manchester on that date. She told me to go and talk to my local pharmacy, as they would be offering a walk in flu vaccine service. She then booked me in, for next Wednesday, for my shingles vaccine after I told her about my oncologist's letter. I went to the pharmacy and got told, they would be starting it on 1st October which is a Sunday. I found it strange, as they don't open on Sundays.
I had my shingles vaccine on Wednesday. As I had to have the dead one, I've got to have another one on 25th October.
I had my blood test, this morning. A hospital nurse phoned me, this afternoon, and told me that they were still waiting for my blood test result but reckoned there wouldn't be a problem with it. So, my bone injection will be going ahead on Friday. She was delighted about me having my first shingles vaccine, last Wednesday, and being booked in for the second one on the 25th of next month.
I had my Covid vaccine, on Wednesday, and I've been booked in for my flu vaccine for next Saturday.
I had my flu vaccine, yesterday. Afterwards, the nurse told me, I should now have my pneumonia vaccine. I told her, the hospital nurse had told me two months ago that I was entitled to have the pneumonia one. But, nobody had talked about since. As I'll be having my Zoladex injection tomorrow, I'll talk to the receptionist about it.
I went to the hospital, earlier, to have an eye test. I was told, the cataract in my right eye is getting bigger but she believed the doctor won't be too worried about it.

My brother was diagnosed with cataracts in June 2021 and still hasn't had them sorted, they've deteriorated so badly he thinks every pattern in the shopping centre is a step and mistook someone for me a few days ago because they were wearing the same colour top!
I have a cataract in my left eye. Luckily it is not growing, but I am eating regular bilberries and other berries. Optician congratulated me on this and there is a possiblity could be helping, but don't know for certain. Get lots of bilberries picked over summer and then frozen.
Mine will be taken out when it has "ripened", I got told.
I had my blood test, earlier. The hospital nurse won't be phoning me with the result, as my oncologist decided to now make the phone call once every ten weeks. I then had to go back to have my pneumonia vaccine. The nurse, jokingly, told me that my right arm is becoming like a pin cushion as I've got my second shingles vaccine in two weeks time.
A hospital nurse phoned me, unexpectedly yesterday morning, saying my oncologist didn't like the low neutrals count of my blood test. So, I went to the Cherrybrook department to have the emergency blood test. The nurse wanted to do my bone injection afterwards, but got told no. So, I had to go back later (after nobody had bothered to phone) to have it done. Because of what had happened, someone in Boots believed I or another nurse had picked up my chemo tablets before I turned up. When the nurse found out, that nobody had picked them up, it was too late. So, I had to pick them up this morning.
I had the last of my vaccines, for this year, yesterday. The nurse, jokingly, told me that I was all jabbed up and ready for the winter.
Unfortunately, my dad continues to go downhill. Yesterday, after he'd gone to bed, he came down saying there was someone in the bedroom and he'd punched the person. Of course, there was nobody there. He, recently, had another 'episode' as he'd woken up in his chair and had started talking to an invisible person.

Do the Doctors think he might have dementia? It sounds very much like it.
He was diagnosed as having dementia a few years ago, but more recently, the doctor believed it had progressed to Alzheimers.
I had my blood test, this morning, and a hospital nurse phoned me this afternoon saying there was nothing wrong with it. So, my bone injection will be going ahead on Friday. She then told me, they'll try and get me in for a CT scan before Christmas and I would have to go to the hospital on 24th January for the result.
I've got a scan appointment for the 14th of next month.
My dad saw his doctor, yesterday, for his recent test results. She told him, there was nothing wrong with his blood test result but they'd found a dark shadow in his left lung. Unfortunately, the x-ray department at the hospital hadn't gone into detail about what they thought it might be. So, she gave him antibiotics. She then told him, there might be something wrong with his heart but she wasn't worried about it and would be writing to the hospital's cardiologist about it. She also told him to go back in two weeks time and, if his cough is no better, she'll be writing to someone at the hospital to find out what they think the shadow might be.
My dad saw his doctor, yesterday. She listened to his chest and did his blood pressure. Though his cough is a lot better, she told him, she could still hear a noise in his left lung. So, she would be writing to the respiratory team at the hospital to get him an appointment to see them. He'll have a camera put down his throat to find out what is going on in his left lung as she wanted to rule out lung cancer, though he's never smoked. She believed whatever is there, might be causing him to cough.
I had a letter from a nurse at the hospital, earlier, saying it's good news. The scan, which I had last Thursday, showed the cancer is still stable. So, the treatment will continue until the next scan.
I've just had my last blood test for this year. The hospital nurse will only phone me if my oncologist doesn't like the result.
A hospital nurse phoned me, earlier, to say my neutrals count was too low for my oncologist's liking. So, I've got to have an emergency blood test first thing tomorrow morning. If she still doesn't like the result, then I'll have to have another blood test in the new year.
As usual, the nurse didn't phone back. So, I went to the Cherrybrook department and had my bone injection.
I had my first blood test for this year, yesterday, and then I went to see my oncologist. She told me, she would like to see my white blood cell count go back up as she doesn't want me to keep having to have emergency blood tests before my bone injection. She also said, my next scan will be in April.
As no nurse phoned me, last Wednesday, I knew I'd passed my first blood test for this year. The next one will be on the 28th of next month.
My sister and brother-in-law had a meeting with the school, last Wednesday. My niece, Audrey, hasn't been to school since the 3rd of this month and nobody from the school has bothered to phone them to find out what had happened to her. Suddenly, last week, someone from the school started phoning every day to ask why Audrey wasn't in the classroom. My sister reckoned it because someone from Ofsted had been looking at the school's attendance figures and might have seen Audrey's continuing absence from school. Nobody at the meeting could explain why they hadn't bothered to phone beforehand. Also, they didn't know if Audrey would be allowed to sit any exams if she went back. My brother-in-law was going to contact someone connected with the school to find out anymore information on the exams and the new timetable for Audrey. They told me, they would talk to Audrey about giving the school another go for up to one or two weeks. If she didn't like it, she then could leave permanently.
I've read everyone aged 75 and over and the vulnerable could be getting another Covid vaccine soon.
Before I had my bone injection, last Friday, the nurse took my blood pressure. She told me, it was low and seemed a bit concerned about it. But, she didn't seem to be very worried.
I had my blood test, yesterday, which was shortly followed by a hospital nurse phoning me. She believed there would be no problem with the result. I told her, my scan had been booked for the 14th of this month. She believed the result will take sometime as more people tend to have scans round about Easter than any other part of the year. She also believed the nurse will take my blood pressure before the bone injection.
I've got my scan tomorrow.
Covid booster vaccine bookings started today. I'm hoping to get mine soon.
I booked my Covid booster for next Saturday (27th).
Now the forum is back to normal (hooray), I can let people know that I had my Covid booster vaccine and then felt a bit cold before I went to bed that night. During the night, I kept shaking and woke up the next morning feeling very tired and very achy. I still felt a bit achy on the Monday, but soon got over it.
Last Tuesday, I received a letter from the hospital saying the recent scan had shown the cancer was still stable. So, the treatment would carry on. The next blood test is this Wednesday with the bone injection on Friday. But, a hospital nurse won't be phoning me as they expect me to pass the blood test.
I had my bone injection, yesterday, though the nurse was concerned about my low blood pressure and low calcium level.
An oncology nurse phoned me, on Tuesday, wanting to know how I was getting on. She then told me, my oncologist or another nurse would phone me next month. Later, I found out, the phone call had been booked for a week before my next blood test. So, after having my blood test the next day, I phoned the department and got told that it would be sorted. I then had to go back to my doctor's surgery as the nurse had booked me for the wrong date. Luckily, I was able to change it. But, they still haven't changed the phone call date. I'll be going to have my bone injection later. So, I'll talk to the nurse about it.
The nurse didn't understand why I have a blood test and bone injection once every five weeks, yesterday. Luckily, one of the nurses working there, knew about me and my situation. The nurse then claimed it should be sorted out and I agreed with her, as the same problem had been going on for over a year. As the next bone injection will be on the 19th of next month, she booked me in for early morning so I then can go off to London afterwards to watch the athletics the next day. Though I told her about the next phone call, being on the wrong day, she didn't seem to be interested.
The nurse phoned me, earlier today, and apologised for phoning one week too early. She blamed it on last month's phone call, as the nurse booked this month's one for today and without realising it was supposed to be next Wednesday. She believed next month's scan will go ahead and didn't understand the reason as to why last August's scan was cancelled as it certainly wouldn't have been because my oncologist was happy with the blood test results. My next Zoladex injection is tomorrow.
I received a hospital letter, yesterday, saying I'd got a scan appointment on the 11th of this month.
Does anyone know anybody who has had Bell's Palsy? My brother-in-law, Jonathan, was taken to hospital early Monday morning as the person on the 111 NHS number thought he was having a stroke. But, the doctor believed it to be Bell's Palsy. He was given tablets and had the affected eye taped and was given eye drops to moisten the affected eye. My sister's now told me, he's been having some sort of reaction to the tablets and has been having problems with sleeping. The doctor told them, he would be a lot better in three weeks time.
I received a letter from my oncologist, today, saying the scan result had shown the cancer is still stable. So, the treatment will carry on until the final scan for this year which will be just before Christmas.
Before I had my blood test, earlier today, I asked the receptionist about my flu and Covid vaccines. She told me, they'll send me a text message on my mobile. I then can either book it via the link or walk in and book them. But, I can't have both at the same time.
I booked my flu vaccine, earlier. But, I've got to go to my doctor's surgery next Monday to book my Covid vaccine as I must have them two weeks apart.
