Bianca Andreescu and Paula Badosa have withdrawn, to be replaced by LL.
I was so pleased for Lily Miyazaki for qualifying for a Grand Slam for the first time, when I heard it on radio Five Live last night.
Lily Miyazaki has won her first round match in 2 sets :yahoo:

Belinda Bencic too good for Lily Miyazaki, took the match 6'3, 6'3.
Not a bad score from Miyazaki though. At least she wasn't bageled.
Well done Katie. Into the 3rd round. :yahoo: :yahoo:

At least Jodie got on the board which can't have been easy.

Well done Coco Gauff winning her 1st Grand Slam on home soil.
The Stadium going nuts for her!
Sad for Sabalenka who has to try again ...

Glad Coco got her first slam and certainly turned it around putting pressure on Sabalenka with some great defence, well done! Found the form on the American hardcourts after an early defeat at Wimbledon. Aryna does have the no1 ranking.

I forecast that Coco Gauff would win the US Open this years. Her results leading up to the tournament had been rreally good. Saying that she was the first teenager since Serena to win means Emmas' efforts have been forgotten!

Well done Coco! When she stepped up she really was on fire. So much energy! I felt emotional watching, it reminded me of the home crowd with Andy’s first Wimbledon win.
