I have an old sky box and not Sky Q. I am hoping I can still get several courts. They told me I would be able to. But it looks like it could be just for Sky Q boxes.

I haggled a bit and got Sky Sports for ?20 for a month with cancellation within 30 days. Thought I’ll be wanting to watch more matches than those free on Showcase.

I got mine for ?18 with cancellation after a month. :)

Well done Cazza!

Yeah, but then found I could not get the multicourt. I would have been better off paying ?26 for NOWTV.

Sky Sports app doesn't work on a laptop. Tried it. Even phoned Sky. App works on mobiles.

Just wondered if anyone is using the new Sky Tennis channel and what they think of it.

I have got it and it is nowhere near as good as Amazon Prime. There only seems to be a choice of a few matches but it is early days and may well improve

I did subscribe for the Us open and had Sky sports when they showed the tennis previously, for now though I am using Tennis TV(though they only show ATP).

I am using Tennis TV. Sky are meant to be starting a multichannel thing around now. I subscribed for the US Open but I do not have sky q and could not get the multicourt - not even on laptop

I'm using Tennis TV over here in USA. They don't show the slams but I like that I can watch replays and set to hide the scores and length of video, so you don't know how long the match goes on. Just have to keep away from social media until I've watched what I want to!!

I would have to be very sure that Sky coverage was brilliant before I would consider spending something around ?400 per year on that - maybe in time it will be. Currently I use Tennis TV and bet365 for live matches not shown on Tennis TV - doubles and WTA.

The Billie Jean Cup tie between GBR and France will be shown
on the BBC Red Button and BBC iPlayer.

Some of the Sky coverage was good. I have joined on NOW just for a month or two so I can have the WTA. I will the stop. They had a lot of the different courts up for streaming. But certainly for some of them they were using the Tennis TV streams and commentators.

Sky Sports have US Open rights to 2027! I am sooooooo disappointed means I not able watch US Open until after 2027 if anyone like Eurosport or Amazon Prime take it back again (assuming Sky Sports don't win rights again!). I need full reply on demand matches since obviously nearly all is middle of night and I don't cope being up well like I used to when lot younger, I get ill if I try to. I did online search and there is Sky community forum with loads of people complaining how awful Sky Sports is for tennis and no full on demand replays etc and they been emailing Sky about it etc and all get same default reply that they are not streaming service like Eurosport/Amazon Prime so cannot offer full on demand replay etc we used to. They are live broadcaster only with some highlights.

Hope they stay far away from Aussie Open and French Open and BBC keep Wimbledon.

You'll be glad to know, Speedy Hawk, all sports are in different groups. Wimbledon is in Group A, which means, Wimbledon must always be shown on a "free to air" channel. I think the BBC have the rights to show Wimbledon until 2027. If the BBC didn't show it, then ITV, Channel 4 or Channel 5 must show it instead. But, as the BBC have always shown it, none of the other channels would even dream of bidding for the right to show it.

The Sky Sports tennis is on NOW TV, where they show all the matches. Not sure whether you can get replays. Sky have been improving the tennis, so some replays may be available or come available. But the price is extortionate. Some of the Sky matches on lesser courts are using the tennistv stream and commentators.

Eurosport to close down next month and all the sports they covered will move to TNT Sports. Sky and Virgin customers who have had free access to tennis, winter sports and much more will be forced to shell out to continue to get it.

Speedy Hawk

Yeah I just saw email just now! Noooooo! Why?!?! I just want watch Grand Slam cheaply cos it is only 2 weeks.

I only pay ?6.99 for Eurosport for month through Discovery+ and now it going be over ?30 like Sky! They better keep same format keep all replays etc like they always do which lot better than Sky. I am still annoyed Sky stolen USA Open and no full replay and live only.

Edit: why this forum converting pound symbol into question mark symbol?? Weird.

Apparently Tennis Channel will be showing almost all GBR tennis events in 2025
including Davis Cup, BJK, Queens and LTA grass court events this summer.

There's a special LIMITED TIME deal of ?10 for the whole of 2025 if you sign up quoting LTA10 via tennischannel.app

TennisonTelly saying it's normally ?2.45pcm

TNT Sports is on Discovery Plus? So won't we continue to get old Eurosport channels on TNT on Discovery Plus?

edit. I think people will need to pay more to get sports on Discovery plus from March. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh

From the LTA

How to watch the Great Britain vs Japan in Davis Cup Qualifiers
You can watch every point of the Great Britain's Davis Cup tie against Japan live on the Tennis Channel.

For a limited time, you can get a monthly subscription to the Tennis Channel for less than ?1 per month by using the code ‘LTA10’ on sign-up.

Tennis Channel will also be showing all of Team GB’s Billie Jean King Cup matches this year as well as matches from both team competitions and bringing every ball of the British Grass Court Season live to UK tennis fans this summer

If you cancel your Discovery Plus subscription then there is a half price offer of TNT premium sports for 7 months at the moment - ?15.49 Can cancel part way through.

I am kinda stuck if I want to pay ?30.99 for 1 month Discovery+ and there is no/little football during same time cos Primer League is over. If football was on and I more likely accept that price but it not and kinda hard to convince myself to pay that much for 2 weeks. I need decide before tomorrow LOL!!

When my Eurosport player expired in February I took out their half price offer for Discovery Plus for a few months as there were other things I wanted to watch between then and French Open. I will then cancel for a bit. It is such a pain tennis has got so expensive.

JAMES4578
24-05-2025, 16:52
Tennis certainly more expensive for a number of us, I have Sky and Eurosport was included in the package but TNT is not.

cazza99
25-05-2025, 09:29
Isn't Discovery+ included in Sky, or is it just the basic and excludes sport?

JAMES4578
25-05-2025, 09:53
@cazza99 unfortunately it is just the basic and not premium. I checked just in case but when going into tennis said you had to subscribe. No special offers for this on my account, over ?10 more than what I was being offered for Sky Sports. However I have taken it for month on rolling contract.

cazza99
25-05-2025, 11:02
What a pain. So Sky pushing Sky Q with free Discovery + is not really giving all of Discovery + then.

I still have an old Sky HD box and don't subscribe to Sky Sports through Sky as can't get Sky +.

I can't get sky plus on my laptop or firestick when away, so I have to subscribe to NOW TV instead just for a short while, so I can stream.

cazza99

Eurosport appears to be still going strong in other European countries and I guess we will be looking at the same streams at Roland Garros.

JAMES4578
25-05-2025, 11:23
yes that seems to be the case, pity it changed here. When the tennis was on Eurosport did get the streams on Discovery plus included with SkyQ but all seems to have changed now. unfortunately issues with the old Sky HD Boxes.

The Roland Garros app has some radio commentary, although there is as much chat as comments about the Musetti match on now. I may just stick with bet 365 for watching some matches rather than pay so much more for Discovery+.

Speedy Hawk

I have decided to skip this year unfortunately cos price is too high.
