The Billie-Jean Cup will return to the Copper Box for the play-off tie between
GBR and Sweden on Sat 11th and Sun 12 November 2023.
If any AMFF'ers are interested in going please post below for now.
If sufficient interest I'll open a separate thread for tickets.
Can you please put my name down.
Am interested, Sally - but can't confirm just yet.

I know priority tickets go on sale today, 4 September at 10.00 a.m. for LTA advantage members but have heard nothing from LTA. Nothing on their website this morning. Anyone heard anything? Thanks.

Sally, Is the interest above enough to merit a group booking ? Thanks for any help.

So far just 5 of you. I've been asked by the LTA to let them know.
There will be some tickets held back for 'groups'.
Happy to facilitate if y'all are still interested
OR
you could just buy your tickets and arrange to meet t'others at some stage.
For Manchester a WhatsApp group has been set up.
I'm still interested in both days.
If nobody else is interested, by tomorrow morning, I'll be buying tickets for myself.

Might be best if those wishing to go buy their own tickets.
If you email me at the amff address and give your contact mobile numbers
I can either put you in touch (if you agree to that) and/or set up a WhatsApp group.
I bought tickets for both days, this morning.

Hi Nessie, I think you sent me a PM but it ain't working properly at the mo'.
If it was about BJK Cup I think I've answered in the thread.
I'll be going to both days of this and haven't seen any of you since 2019, so I was wondering if there was going to be a group going. Anyway, I've now got tickets, so if anybody from AMFF who knows me is going, I'd be happy to arrange to meet at some point during the weekend.
Thanks Sally, I’ll try later!
I've got a ticket for the Saturday, can't make the Sunday.
Don't think I am going to manage to go along to the Copper Box for the tie.
The team has been named.
Katie Boulter, Harriet Dart, Jodie Burrage and Heather Watson.
I received an email, earlier, saying I've got to download my tickets. Instead, I've got to go to the Copper Box box office to collect them as my mobile phone is too old to do it.

Jackie and I are waiting on our tickets which I understand will go into the LTA tickets app

I've not got my tickets yet. At least we are not alone in not having received them yet. A bit infuriating though at this point.

We got our tickets yesterday
I checked the app when the email arrived and my ticket was there.
You'll be like me, Rosalind. When I went to the Davis Cup tie in Manchester, all they asked for was my driving licence as proof for my identity. I was then given my three tickets.

Thanks for that info Stell.
That is crazy isn't it?!
I have my tickets sorted now via the app. Bit of a phaff though.
I will try to remember to wear my badge in case I see any of you.

Just found out Travel disruption on tube - circle, district, Hammersmith and city, jubilee and Metropolitan, all these lines closed until 3pm today
Hadn't realised just how weakened the Swedes are due to injuries to their top 2. This should really be 3-0.
In any case, we are underway with Burrage against Rinaldo Persson.
Jodie was 4-0 up, but it's back on serve at 4-3*...
Jodie's slump continues, losing 6 games in a row and with it the first set.

Talk about throwing it away, hopefully Jodie gets back on track!
Streak now 8 games lost in a row.
Jodie stops the rot, but is still a break down.
Jodie now down a double break, looking lost.

certainly a disappointing start!
Katie looking good, leads 5-1 first set.
Katie up a set and a break, 6-2 *2-1.
Katie now has a double break at *4-1 and is looking good to level the tie.

That was pretty straightforward,Katie wins 6-2,6-1 well done!

I was there! Had a lovely time despite 2 women behind me talking throughout. They knew nothing about tennis and kept wondering who the line judges were. If they hadn't been so obnoxious I would have explained but it was fun keeping them wondering..... yes, Katie was very good. I was just behind the team - fabulous !
Think I saw Linda in the crowd.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Jodie said she didn't realise how stressful it would be to play for GB. Her first experience, will be stronger next time hopefully.
I haven't seen any post-match interviews, but I hear that Anne inferred that she will go with someone more experienced instead of Jodie tomorrow.
Despite all that, Jodie is listed to play.
In the meantime, Katie strolls to the first set against Rinaldo Persson, 6-1.
Given that Jodie is courtside, I'm assuming it's Harriet playing next. Have they announced that?

Tie-break for the 2nd set. Katie serving at *3-2 (so a mini-break up).
Dropped a serve; 3-3 at the change of ends.

Yay!!! Well done Katie Boulter!!!
Gets the win; 6'1, 7'6(5)
:GBflag:
That was a great battle in the second set, Katie just wouldn't let it go.
Seems that Harriet Dart will play the next match
First set to Harriet 7-5
Harriet wins the match....7-5, 6-2 :GBflag: :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

Great result for team GB. A bit nail biting at times but stayed strong and got the win. I hope those attending enjoyed the matches, Great crowd support for the ladies.

A few tight moments but Katie and Harriet held strong, well done! Whilst clear favourites still had to produce.

I've had a very enjoyable couple of days. Very pleased they both won today. Great atmosphere.
I really enjoyed it. What I didn't enjoy was getting caught up with the West Ham and Nottingham Forest fans as I went back to Stratford station. It took forever getting into the station and onto the platform.

Not letting the grass grow, Harriet jets off to Japan to compete in the 100K ITF event in Takasaki. Plays first round on Wednesday.

There was such a contrast between us tennis fans and the football fans. I'll just leave that there. Didn't enjoy that walk back either.
