Commentator said that Zverev admitted he did not know how to play against Safiullin for a set and a half recently. Andy having the same problem. Some amazing points being played by both.

Another blow for Andy. He got to Ad so many times on the Russian's serve but couldn't quite finish it off. I feel for him because things aren't going his way but then when have they? - the tennis gods have never been kind. I feel sad because I know my interest in tennis will diminish when Andy finally bows out; I'm hoping for another year plus but who knows? x

Yes it?s very tough.
Can?t imagine how he will keep motivated if he doesn?t get some results soon.

Doesnt the season finish this week? Have I got that right?

certainly disappointing, Saufflin can be a challenge but thought it was better draw than last week. Even if some of the games were close Andy could not mount a fightback this time. Imagine he intends to play another year anyway though.

There is still the European indoor swing,World Tour Finals starts 12 November (though obviously not everyone involved in that).

Oh dear, this was disappointing. Andy’s full on hitting just didn’t seem to be strong enough, feeling for him right now.

Disappointed for him.

Safiullin marches on with a easy win over Zverev. He is a tricky player whatever their ranking. Hope Andy is feeling better about his loss now! x

Probably not, Safiullin played very well yesterday (even if Zverev was below par) but went down to Ben Shelton 6-4 in the 3rd today.

Although losing in singles Cam Norrie is still in doubles with Rinky Hijicata beating Hurcaz/Shelton - they play another Brit tomorrow Joe/Rajeev.
Dan plays Alcaraz later today.

Alcaraz wins 7-6, 6-4, but Dan played very well.

In the first set Dan was up a break, saved multiple break back points in a VERY long game but was broken in his next service game. He also broke first in second set but was broken back immediately. Really good from Dan making Alcaraz work.

Cam Norrie had a rarely seen smile when he and Rinky Hijikata reached the QF doubles beating 3rd seeds Joe/Rajeev 11-9 in the MTB. Next opponents are 5th seeds Gonzalez/Molteni.

19th seed Ben Shelton (who beat Safiullin) has just beaten 6th seed Jannik Sinner in a 3rd set tiebreak. Ben, just turned 21, has had an amazing year!

perhaps Cam thinks the only way he'll play in the DC finals is as a doubles player !
