As the other one doesn't work, I decided to start another one as I've got a problem with my TV. I've got a LG 24 TQ5 10S-PZ Smart TV and, last Sunday, I was watching it when it suffered an outage. I re-tuned it and lost 39 Freeview channels. So, I contacted a technician from LG and the man tried to help me to bring the channels back. But, in doing so, the TV lost more Freeview channels and is now down to 24 of them. He then told me to contact Freeview, which I did. As I'm still waiting for a reply from them, is there any expert who knows how I can bring back all the missing channels.

Have you tried retuning?

Stell
15-10-2023, 08:42
Yes. It still comes up with the same 24 channels. My sister and brother-in-law told me, yesterday, I can take my TV over to their house on Saturday to see what happens as they didn't have a power outage and they live about two miles away from me.

Forum - Technical Issues also doesn't work on my laptop anymore, which is why I also started this one.

I re-tuned my TV, earlier, and it found three more channels. But, I'll still be taking it over to my sister and brother-in-law's house on Saturday.

I re-tuned my TV, yesterday, at their house and it found more channels. It suddenly went up to 42 channels. So, I decided to see if I could re-tune it again by using my parents TV earlier. It worked and the TV is back to normal and, hopefully, I won't have anymore problems.

My AMFF email may have been hacked. Please ignore any messages from me.
Thanks.

Thanks Sally, I was going to ignore the 2 messages I had received as I am always suspicious of messages like those.

I had an email from you a few minutes ago. Thought it a bit strange. In fact it was sent twice.

Please note that I cannot open Private Messages in the forum so please post in here if you have any queries.

I've just sent an email from the AMFF account having changed the password!!!

Apologies if you received the dodgy email relating to a bout of laryngitis!

I got that email too and I replied 1st one before kicking myself cos I realised it not you after I sent it. 2nd email which I got reply make it obvious that it is fake.

06-12-2023, 14:17
I replied to the first one as I've got a bad throat too and am brain fogged.

The 2nd email obviously a fake, but still says from your email address, want me to go out and buy an Apple Gift card.

To those sending me Private Messages.
I cannot read them!!!!!
So honestly there is no point continuing to use that method to contact me.
If it's private send an email to the AMFF address which is now secured.
:thanks:

I have an Acer Chromebook 15 laptop. It now, when I want to type a letter to someone, it keeps coming up with 'this version of Google Chrome is no longer supported. Please upgrade to a supported browser. Dismiss'. I've clicked on supported browser and then Chrome. But, what do I do next?

Hawkeye
26-12-2023, 11:35
On a Chromebook, Chrome should automatically update, but if your device is quite old it may have past its built-in lifespan. You can continue to use it after that, but it will no longer update. The message you are getting should be able to be dismissed and then you can continue.

Why do I frequently get a "cannot decode raw data" error message when trying to access the forum? It persists for a few hours then is ok again.

Stell
22-04-2024, 17:47
I, sometimes, get a error message when I'm trying to access the forum. It then works again either a few hours later or the next day.

Sallydaisy
23-04-2024, 21:13
Yeah, it happens sometimes.

exislander
23-04-2024, 21:23
"Sometimes" seems to be for several hours almost every day recently - it used to be a rare occurrence for me. Ah well, at least it works some of the time........

I can't get into the forum most days at some point, then when I try it just by chance, it works! Perhaps it's just getting old like some of us! x

I'm just thankful it's still going. Many thanks for that. I know the end will come eventually and it'll be a big void in my life after all these years. The forum has been a wonderful place to share our love of Andy from the very beginning.
Still remember him coming on to chat with us or is my memory jaded??

JAMES4578
24-04-2024, 23:55
Yes Andy did come on the forum in the early days (when it was the official one), a lot of memories though not so many regular posters nowadays. Have encountered some errors most days recently.

Speedy Hawk
30-04-2024, 14:35
Yes Andy did used to official forum and so did Judy too.

Hi all, things have been settled for a while but yesterday our service provider
was down for a few hours and we were not the only ones affected. All back
in action now; apologies for the inconvenience.

Sallydaisy

Hi all
Apologies if you couldn't get in yesterday (I couldn't either!!!).
There was a problem with our service provider which is now resolved.

Aha! We are back!!!
Sorry for the outage but there was more than one Forum affected so it looks as though the problem is resolved.

Sallydaisy

There still appear to be some issues - apologies but it's out of our hands.

Thanks Sally. Was getting worried there. Really appreciate what you do to continue to keep the site running. Just feels like family and I panic a little when I think about when we're not able to communicate here.

JAMES4578
10-05-2025, 11:01
it was a bit worrying, according to the stats only 18 Active Members now though. Nowadays a lot of folk just use social Media (I still like to come on here as well).

Speedy Hawk
21-05-2025, 07:56
Even though I don't post too often but I still check here quite often, once a day. Especially near and during slams.

Having problems right now in Queens/Nottingham thread, unable to post or edit (was ok earlier). still receiving errors and not posting any links (though know to leave space in ht tp when doing so) I have also cleared cache, oh well will try later- thanks Sally and cazza.

Sorry for the downtime with the forum.
It's caused by spambots overloading our system and nothing we can do about it.
They usually go away after a few days ... and 'guests' then go back to manageable levels.

Speedy Hawk
27-08-2025, 10:16
Ah I see that why. I been wondering why forum seem be down most of time.
