Gosh I hope he beats him this time
The preceding match is 7-6 4-3 (on serve) at the moment.
So hope Andy can get the win here. Feeling edgy already, the dogs are giving me a wide berth! x
Previous match has now gone to a third set. So it will be a while before Andy is on.
Previous match finished.
Andy coming up :cheer:
Andy broken in game 1.
We've been here before...

Andy breaks back to love!
Three break back points for Andy in game 8...
He only needs one!
Andy holds from 0-30 down, 5-4*.
2 sets points for Andy. De Minaur should have challenged at 15-15...
1 saved.
2 saved.
A third break point after a poor volley from De Minaur...
Andy holds, so a TB at worst.
Tie break, Andy down an early mini break.
*2-0.
4-2 De Minaur at the change of ends. Too many UEs.
Andy keeps getting back on terms only to go a mini break down again, De Minaur leads *5-4.
Back on serve at *5-6, no room for error now...
But an error is what we get, and De Minaur is a set up.
Going as I realistically thought it might. x

A case of Andy not quite able to capitalise again, hopefully can find way in 2nd but likely will be tough.

Following similar pattern, hopefully 3rd set different this time!
Holding my breath that Andy can keep holding his serve and take this decider. Miss being able to thank folk for their posts, particularly as I only follow on fs. x

Omg I can’t believe that torture we put ourselves through but he’s been beaten again after being ahead in the final set
What does he have to do to get a win???

I think play the big points better, this one will hurt! obviously a difficult match up though.
No one to blame but himself. I'm starting to question his bottle for the battle.

Me too. Can't believe he lost that.
Gutting. Andy won the most points in the match.

He should have won that.
He was looking good for so much of that.
But he’s playing a younger version of himself
Gish that’s going to hurt!
He wants these matches TOO much and in the latter stages his body denies him. Physically and mentally it must be draining for him; at some point he will throw in the towel perhaps sooner than he wanted but we don't want him a broken man which he will be if this continues.

I just cannot imagine how frustrated Andy must feel
I've just read, on the BBC website, about Andy losing two match points and then smashing his racquet. Disappointed for him.
Was there with Sally. Physically and playwise Andy was fine. The problem lies between the ears. Saying he's going to work harder isn't the solution. He needs a good sports psychologist.

He tends to try too hard when it gets tight and that affects his skill set.

Replying to Pabbers comment above, I agree it is between his ears. I have felt for a while he should speak to Dr Steve Peters who helped Ronnie O'Sullivan.
andy was working with a sports psychologist, ages ago, forgotten her name - remind me someone?
