Has anyone else had the email from AELTC saying to verify your MyWimbledon account ready for the ballot opt-in? The email says to log in and verify your account so I logged in and updated my contact preferences etc but nowhere could I see an option to 'verify' my email address. I am assuming that simply by logging in I have verified it. They have introduced two-factor authentication on the account so you have request a code via email, then enter it before you get access so in a way that acts as verification but it isn;t exactly clear what they mean by verify your email

For the LTA Ballot, do be aware that they have introduced new membership types. You need the LTA Fan+ membership at 20 quid to be able to enter the LTA ballot. My existing membership has been moved to being LTA Compete which costs 30 quid and is intended for players but also includes ballot rights. I don't need the Compete level so intend to downgrade to the Fan+ type when my membership renews in Feb. That's tricky because it's while the ballot is running so I will be contacting them to ask how I downgrade but maintain my place in the ballot

I got the email from Wimbledon too. You accept by verifying your email and then you get a code sent through to finalise this.
It doesn’t work!! The code takes more than 10 minutes to come through by which time it has expired. Will try again tomorrow. By then they should have had a lot of complaints!

Yes, I found it took ages for the code to come through, think I had about 5 before I got one before the 10 minutes was up!

Yes the code failng to come through happened to me too. Tried again an hour ago and it came straight through this time.

For the LTA ballot I've messaged the LTA from their contact form to ask how one downgrades from LTA Compete to LTA Fan+. It's a bit of a nuisance that my membership expires in the middle of the balloting period so I don't want any mess-ups

I am on Compete too though not a player but unsure how to downgrade without cancelling and then rejoining so have not tried.

Will let you know what they say to my enquiry exislander. I could cancel and rejoin but don't want that to mess up my ballot entry in the new year. Shouldn't be a problem for anyone whose membership expiry is not in the balloting period but mine is Feb, so want to be sure before I do anything

(sorry the Reply with Quote option is working for me on the forum)

Thanks ^ I think mine expires November but with ballot opening September I do not want to jeopardise that so if it is simple to change please let me know.

reply to post #7 above

I raised that with the LTA in Sept 2021. The response was "Your compete membership will expire on the 29/09/2021 and then you will be able to upgrade from a free membership to a fan+ in your online account." So on the 29th I dropped down to some free membership status (you don't get thrown out, just demoted) and then paid ?20 for an upgrade to fan+ status, where I have been ever since.

Hope that helps.

I think I am at the time when I have a lifetime membership.

I had the same issue with complete membership last year. I just let it expire and then rejoined as fan+. No problem with ballot.

Caro, when you rejoined were you able to use the same email address as before, or do they say that email address is already in use?

Caro

No Jackie, you can use same details and just re-join. Just make sure you are not set up for automatic renewal … although I and others I know have had issues with that not working in the past anyway.

I was in the waiting room for just over an hour but I have entered the Ballot - to be notified from November if successful! Is this earlier than in previous years?

Hi, I’ve entered ballot but I haven’t got email confirming my entry. I was sure that it said email confirmation would be sent? Has anyone had email confirmation?

exislander

Yes, confirmation email received giving Application Number as well as Customer Contact Number. Have you checked your junk/spam email folder as well as inbox?
You also need to ensure your preferences are set to include emails about Tickets and Ballots.

My email took a few hours to arrive - fortunately I could see in My Wimbledon account that I was successfully registered. It did come eventually.

Hi Lovetennis, when I read your news I went onto LTA site this morning and it said release date of resale tickets yet to be announced! How did you do it? Thanks.

I got tickets yesterday in the LTA Wimbledon resale for Jackie & I for the Ladies Final. I am not Wimbledon itself is doing a resale this year.

Silverdee - I received an email from the LTA last Friday with advance notice of the sale on Tues at 10am. I also heard other people's email said 2pm so I think they probably released tickets in 2 stages to prevent the site crashing. You had to be unsuccessful in the LTA ballot to be eligible

Thanks for that info. First time for years I haven’t got Wimbledon tickets!
