Cam Norrie through 6'4, 6'4 over Sonego.
It was a good match for him. Glad he managed to finish it out.

A bit of a surprise that Rublev got no further, went down to Lehecka 6-4,6-4 (though also had a win over him in Doha last year). Cameron plays Monfils at 6Pm tonight, will be looking for his first win in 4 attempts (though only recent meeting was cincinnati in 2023.

Norrie had a point to lead 3-0. La Monf has woken up and it's now 3-3 in the first set.
I have to go out so will miss a lot ...
:grrr:
Cam took the first set in a tie break, and is a break up.in the second set.
Monfils serving to stay in the second set at 4-5
1 set all. Monfils pulling all the tricks out of his bag, including an underarm serve.

Monfils won with 6'3 in the 3rd set.

That was a tough loss, bit of a gruelling one and Monfils tricky, Cameron did not really capitalise on his chances though.

Alcaraz retained his title (the first since Wimbledon) getting the better of Medvedev 7-6 (7-5), 6-1. A bit scrappy intially and Daniil had the better start but Carlos dominant in the 2nd. More drama though in the semi with Sinner where the spaniard stemmed the tide after some magnificent play from the Italian 1-6,6-3,6-2. Jannik though had a fall early in the 3rd and could not stop Alcaraz gaining control.
