I think they're playing a lot of Singles matches on Saturday.

According to the BBC's website, it could be 5pm (17.00pm).

Draper has disposed of Nishikori in straight sets. Dan has required treatment for a bleeding knee after a fall but is at 6-2 4-4 now.

Taro Daniel has lost to Casper Ruud in straight sets so Daniel/Nishikori have more rest time than Dan.

Dan is now 6-2 4-6 so into a 3rd set!

Sallydaisy

Dan won 6'2, 4'6, 6'2. Hope he can recover properly ahead of the doubles!

Hopefully Dan ok for the Doubles, convincing enough in the 3rd though. It was pretty comforable for Jack, closer in 2nd mind you.

Probably his last pro match. So here I be.

Teresa

No going well so far. Clay when fit, was always tough for him. With his hip and back he has almost no chance.

First set gone. This might be over quickly.

Sallydaisy

Japan take the first set 6'2.

I have it on BBC Red Button or just key in 601 to get direct to the channel.

Teresa

Was on the wrong thread. They need to get going and get going fast.

Teresa

JAMES4578

The Japanese have been sharp but not the best from Andy/Dan, now broken at start of 2nd! Need to step up.

An astounding victory in the end saving 5 mps, really looked like it was too much ground to make up but Andy's determination along with Dan's very much in evidence. so Andy lives another day, hopefully more joy even if tension ahead!

Well I know I really shouldn’t be surprised at Andy giving us another murraycoaster. Talk about summarising his career in a match. I will sure miss them ( now that my heart has returned to normal ). What a ride it’s been since that junior US open win in 2004. A privilege. And have lived sharing it with you all and meeting so many of you at DC.

HoopGirl

It’s exactly true what so many of you have said - what an emotional roller coaster to take that match!
Truly amazing and a fitting win by Andy and Dan - breath holding - love it!

Wowee!!!! How amazing was that. I had 2 channels where I could watch it over here in USA and both messed up, so I missed the first set. I was soooo upset.

Then I thought the worst. I should have known better. Said a few prayers and the 5 match points were won.

Unbelievable, although not really. So happy for them both and for us.

When do they play again, does anyone know. I'm having trouble understanding the scheduling over here.

I watched the match on the Red Button wondering why BBC 1 weren't showing it considering they looked out for him during the ceremony. I then found he and Dan were also on BBC 1 and I couldn't believe they saved five match points. I did keep hoping that they might come back and win. Fantastic.

Andy/Dan's opponents yet to be decided, expected to be 8th seeds Fils/Humbert who play later today.

An upset as Belgians Gille/Vliegan will face Murray/Evans, now listed 4th on Suzanne Lenglen after Alcaraz/Nadal doubles. Draper v Fritz first at 11am Uk time

Teresa

Might not be back in time for this one. Good luck to the pair of them. If they win I watch it later. If they lose my final memory of Murray on a tennis court for real will be him and Dan jumping around like excited school boys. A win win either way.

Stell
30-07-2024, 10:32
Andy and Dan are last on today. The BBC received loads of complaints about when they decided to start showing the previous match. Hopefully, they won't make the same mistake again and show basketball instead of Andy and Dan.

HoopGirl
30-07-2024, 11:26
Will they show the march do you think?
They aren’t showing Jack playing his match

exislander
30-07-2024, 11:36
I am watching Draper v Fritz on Discovery+ - no commentary. There are too many sports for BBC to show everything live.

cazza99
30-07-2024, 11:42
All tennis matches are on Discovery plus.

hfwardhouse
30-07-2024, 15:00
The BBC don't have the full rights to show the Olympics so there's no guarantee they'll show the tennis as I believe they're limited to the number of live events they can show in a day. Discovery plus is the only place guaranteed to see it. I'm likely to miss it tonight as am out on a Tuesday....

Speedy Hawk
30-07-2024, 15:44
People also keep forgetting that BBC LOST rights to show everything they used to. Eurosport/Discovery+ got all the rights to show everything. It will be like this until 2037. After that we do not know who gets rights have all Olympic sports.

cazza99
30-07-2024, 21:14
BBC can show sports where there is GB interest I think. They said tonight they will show the next doubles.

It is only because of a british rule that BBC have 2 channels.
