GBR v USA for a place in the Semi-Finals of the Olympics and possibly medal.
:GBflag:
Currently the match appears to be down for 11am on Thursday ...
... am presuming that will be updated because today ...
Tommy Paul beat Frenchman Moutet to progress to the last 8, and is listed to play Alcaraz at 11am Thursday.
Taylor Fritz was knocked out of the Singles today (by Musetti)
Fritz teams up with Gauff to play Mixed Doubles later today.

Dandy are on 4th after an 11am start (10am UK) on Lenglen.
Hopefully Fritz will be tired.

Hope they are both tired!
So roughly when is that likely to be?
Sallydaisy

BBC1 have 18.00 to show the Dandy match ...
On Lenglen there's a Ladies Doubles (8-8 in the match tie-break)
followed by
Zverev v Musetti and then Ruud v FAA.
Finally Dandy.

I think this will be one heck of a tussle.
Fritz and Paul both now out of the singles (Paul just lost to Alcaraz),
last night Fritz/Gauff lost in the mixed.
So the Americans will want to do their absolute best now their only chance
to win an Olympic medal is to win their Doubles event and that means beating Andy & Dan.
So right Sallydaisy. Hopefully Paul will be tired and over hyped from his fight with Carlos and Fritz can be unpredictable. Andy and Dan want it so much and deserve it. Going to be a hard one to watch. x
I am not sure I am going to watch it. I hope desperately they get through, but I don’t want my last memory of Andy on a tennis court to be him walking off defeated.
Yes I know I am a coward.

Any ideas where I can watch this?

If you do not have Discovery+ or Bet365 the BBC will at least show highlights I would imagine. Also if you go to Murraysworld.com forums you may find a thread which gives links to free livestreams. I cannot vouch for these as I have never used them.
I read somewhere that it will be on either BBC1 or iplayer.

BBC1 have already said they would show it.
FAA is now 3-0 up in the 3rd set.

Hmm, have just seen on BBC Live Feed Olympics that Dandy might be on BBC iplayer which is currently showing surfing.
Sallydaisy

Apparently it's definitely (for now!) going to be shown only on BBC iPlayer Olympics Extra.

Can’t say I’m enjoying this atm.
If this is to be his last match then I’d love to see more of an even battle

Ah, they're on the board. Sealed with an Ace from Dan for 1-4.
I thought (or perhaps hoped) that the Americans would be lacking energy but it's Andy and Dan that seem a bit lack-lustre. Get this 1st set out of the way and start from scratch.x

Argh! Andy's serve broken. USA to serve at 2-1 up.
US 3-1 up in 2nd set. Everything going their way. Looks like our dream is over, bless them. x

Americans certainly on form but our team just not sharp enough, one break back though-can Andy/Dan really keep pressure on!

Wondering because Carlos beat Fritz and making him more determined to win doubles. He doesn't look tired even though he play earlier.

Another break point for GBR ... just when USA thought they were serving for the match.

What a last few games. Am so sad it's over but so glad Andy came into my life all those years ago. I have made some lovely friends and shared some amazing moments over the years! Smiling through the tears.
Definitely some Murray magic at the end. But was not to be. End of an era. I shed a tear, well, more than one. Hold your head up high, Andy, in my ancient eyes you will always be the best. x

Fritz/Paul were the stronger pair, at least we seen some fighting spirit /determination but it was not quite enough. Really needed a better start, may not what he hoped for but still impressive that Andy/Dan reached the quarters.
A number of memorable matches throughout the years and some remarkable achievements, been such a joy to be a supporter of Andy Murray! of course challenges in recent years but his never give up attitude won many admirers, it was right to call it the end of the day this season though.
Thanks to everyone for their company throughout the highs and lows, hope the forum may continue for a bit longer though.
I didn’t watch it. I had my swimming lesson. I had so hoped he and Dan might pull off a medal, but it wasn’t to be.
He left nothing out there in his career. He rung out every ounce of talent he had. He did himself and Britain proud.
I shall miss the nerve racking matches and the hiding in the garden.
I hope the next stage of his life is happy, fulfilling and pain free.
Yes, James, the American duo were very strong (but think their more experienced compatriots may take the gold). Thank you everybody for your company over the years both on here and at events. Perhaps see you at Davis Cup Manchester in September; I'm there with son and grandson for the Argentina tie; I'll be the one with the 1936 Union Jack and the elbow crutch! Take care. x
So sad that this is Andy's last match but we have been lucky that he has managed to continue as long as he has and given us so much enjoyment.
14 years ago today I met Andy in Los Angeles where he was playing. He lost in the final to Sam Querrey but I was so happy that I got the chance to meet him.

Thanks to you all for giving me like minded people to talk to and follow Andy with, and to Sally and the mods for the forum.
Last but not least, thanks to Cazza and Speedy for the comps. It's been fun.
Can't wait to see what he does next and hoping to still follow along here.

I have a photo of him at the Davies Cup in Bruges.
I’ve also two life size cardboard cutouts of him in my kitchen.
But I’m not ready to get rid of them yet!

On a serious note - I’ve loved sharing Andy and his ups and downs with this community of folks who also loved him wholeheartedly like I do.
And meeeting some of you at Glasgow and Bruges for That Davies Cup that will be forever in our minds.
I don’t know what’s happening to the forum but I wish you all the best.
And I wish Andy love, health and happiness which I’m sure he’ll have oodles off.

Some of you must have been through this before with Tim Henman. Did you feel as bereft when he retired?

No.

But I expect the folks who set up and ran his fan forum did.

I liked Tim but I completely love Andy.
And when Tim retired Andy was on the up.
And was so different to Tim - an exciting new kid on the block

Enjoyed supporting Tim- but Andy was a whole other level, had been watching out for him as a junior and it was just that feeling from early on that something special was about to happen. Absolute legend .
I supported Tim, but Andy was so much better. I watched as Clare Balding got emotional while saying goodbye to him and I think Rebecca Adlington was close to tears as well over Andy. I agreed with Gordon Smart, who paid tribute to Andy on radio Five live later yesterday evening as we can't loose Andy. I think we'll see him, somehow, in Manchester. I know, at the end of each Olympics, the IOC like to hand out special medals or awards to people who have exceeded in their sport. I wonder if Andy will get chosen.

I probably different from most on here. I love Tim and he was my favorite tennis player and he was one got me interested in tennis and he did lot for tennis, remember there was NO one good enough until Tim came along and he given Brits hope for Wimbledon and before Tim there was nothing. He was so close sometimes and things go against him (especially that one year really heartbreaking!! So I don't like seeing that year) and even though he not quite good enough win Wimbledon but he did give hope though. Tim was near end his career I thought that was it for British tennis and unlikely see anyone good as Tim but then Andy come along and wow he SOOO much better than Tim! I also love Andy too. Both are my favourite and equal to me. I don't think I will see another one like both for long time.
Jack Draper seem be and hopefully be good but doesn't get same feeling for me like Tim and Andy did. I will still hope Jack Draper do well.

I was a Tim henman fan and enjoyed watching him (live on some ocassions) but was more fanatical about Andy and obviously he turned out to be a much better player. However Henman's results at Wimbledon at that time seemed amazing and the best Brit performance for a while. Mind you was tennis fan long before then from mid 70s. Greg Rusedski actually won more tournments(13-11) and did reach a slam final but was not as consistent (supported him as well but not to quite the same degree) Did not seem such a loss though and Andy was breaking through at that time. I think Jack Draper is a prospect and will be rooting for him along with some of the other current top players. some great results from Jack but yet to prove himself at the Slams.
