Tumaini Carayol, Simon Cambers and Stu Fraser are reporting on Twitter that Andy is joining
"Team Djokovic" as a coach during the off-season and through the Australian Open swing.
It's for real folks .....
:tennis:

Did anyone bet on that???

Doing a google, there are a few articles from earlier this year suggesting Nole wanted to be coached by Andy's mum.

Djokovic tweeted - h ttps://x.com/DjokerNole/status/1860352532813414908

"He never liked retirement anyway" with a short video announcement with short clips of Nole and Andy.

Does that mean that forum members will now change to be routing for Nole to win?

Good question cazza, where are our Nole haters? :D

Did not see that coming, though of course were close in their younger days, very much mixed feelings. whilst interesting to see what Andy brings to the table but I will be supporting the new generation at the Australian Open.

How very weird.
No, it certainly won't make me root for Djoko at all.

I hope Andy will do well as a coach. He was very good as a player with analysing matches and tactics to combat opponents.

I hope Andy enjoys it, but won’t get me routing for Djokovic. Why change the habit if a lifetime…….

I have mixed feelings as well. I just don't like Djoko's attitude. Will be interesting to see how it works out.
Really wished he had chosen someone else but have to trust he knows what's best for him.

I'd just arrived home, after seeing my sister and brother-in-law, when I saw it on the BBC's news. The reporter claimed it was the "last chapter" for Djokovic, which sounded to me, like he was also thinking of retiring.

I don't dislike Djokovic (there was only one of the big 4 that I did) so this coupling will at least get me watching the Australian Slam if only to see Andy in his corner.

Andy will be joining Nole for the Australian Open but Andy is not there for Brisbane this week.

Djokovic did not get a boost in the warm up, lost 7-6,6-3 to Opelka in in the Brisbane quarters.

According to The Times, Andy was flying to Australia last night. Andy was not in Brisbane as he had a prebooked skiing holiday with family. And he spent 10 days with Nole before Xmas.

An extract of the article is in the newspaper thread.

Andy is going to continue coaching Nole for an indefinite period which is expected to be at least US and the clay court season.

A relatively short stay for Andy in Indian Wells, Djokovic went out to the lucky loser Van De Zandschulp 6-2,3-6,6-1 in his opening match.

6 months and done for Andy and Nole. Not sure how much either of them got out of it.

just a PR stunt on Novak's part. 'Everybody else has a big name coach so why can't I'. Plus it gave him some-one to blame if things went wrong. I'm amazed he thought Andy would offer him anything useful.

Maybe not a great surprise , reports previously that it would last at least till the French or Wimbledon mind you. Recent results did not help the cause but not sure it was a great fit, tbh somewhat relieved though as could not get fully behind them. sure Andy will coach again in the future, wonder if he will take his time though.

So, Andy can now concentrate on his motivational tour. Maybe, he'll then coach one of the British players or help with our Davis Cup team.
