Thanks Cazza. For some reason I wasn't expecting it to start until Monday.

I wasn't expecting it to start until tomorrow either! What UK time do they get under way?

cazza99
17-01-2026, 11:53
Feel a bit sorry for Emma as she wasn't able to get to Melbourne until Saturday as she was in the quarters elsewhere. So she has not had enough time to adapt. She is also second night match after a men's five setter so it could be a very late start for her. But that is good for us as we can watch on Sunday morning.

I watched the opening ceremony on the YouTube channel, today. It felt like the opening ceremony of the Olympics, but without the razzmatazz. It was good that they showed the doubles match (Roger Federer, Andre Agassi, Lleyton Hewitt, Pat Rafter and Ash Barty) in full.

Has anyone worked out how to get "courtside" on TNT sports/discovery plus with the -presenters such as Laura Robson etc. I am watching on a Firestick/Discovery Plus.

Yep, Cameron vs Zverev last match on John Cain arena not before 7.30 am UK time.

Jinx! First set to Zverev, 7-5.

Cash and Glasspool lost in the doubles...

Sallydaisy
23-01-2026, 09:52
Skupski/Harrison through to R3 with a 2-0 win.
That's bad for Cash/Glasspool who were the #1 seeds - bet the Aussie WCs had the crowd going nuts with that win.

Sallydaisy
23-01-2026, 10:06
Norrie took the 2nd set so it's 1-1.
Still a chance for the Brit ...

Schedule for Saturday - h ttps://ausopen.com/schedule#!43231

The schedule says there is an early start at 11.30 tonight UK time due to high temperature. Looks like it is across all 6 show courts. The other courts start at 11. pm

pity with all the Brits out of the singles, Cameron competed well for a while against Zverev but could not sustain it. Not any big upsets this far though Tien was a convincing winner over Medvedev. Skupski/Harrison in the quarters of the Men's Doubles but the top 2 seeds are out.

cazza99
27-01-2026, 11:16
It was 45C today at the Ozzy Open. 2nd hottest temperature at the tournament ever I think.

yes,very tough for the players.

Djokovic got lucky again.

After a w/o in his previous match he's now into the Semi-Final despite looking down and out!
Musetti romped through the first 2 sets taking them 6'4, 6'3.
Djoko had the trainer on at the end of set 2 and it was clear he was in discomfort from a massive blister.

In the Semi's Djoko will face the winner of Sinner v Shelton, due to start soon.

But Musetti then had a problem which the trainer couldn't resolve and the Italian retired at 1-3 in the 3rd set.

Good to see Johnson and Zielinski and Harrison and Skupski make the men's semi finals. Hopefully, we might get at least one Brit in the final.

Stell
29-01-2026, 08:51
Well done to Harrison and Skupski on making the final. I heard Ryan Harrison say, on radio five live recently, he reckoned our male doubles players are the best in the world and Christian was so delighted to team up with Neal Skupski. Shame Johnson and Zielinksi didn't make the final, but they must be proud of getting to the semis.

Sabalenka into the AO Final with a straightforward win over Svitolina, 6'2, 6'3

Sabalenka vs Rybakina in the women's AO final

Sallydaisy
30-01-2026, 09:18
Alcaraz d Zverev in a very long 5-setter - dramatic match! Now the record for the longest SF at the AO.
Zverev served for it in the 5th set at 5*-3 but too tentative and the Spaniard finally got the upper hand.

JAMES4578
30-01-2026, 11:23
Yes great for Skupski/Harrison and hoping Rybakina can turn the tables on Sabalenka this time.

only seen the 5th set of Alcaraz/zverev (but will catch up later), whilst happy Carlos came through a biter blow for Sascha.

cazza99
30-01-2026, 13:51
Yes, Alcaraz vs Zverev this morning was a cracker. I only saw the last set as I woke up late. But entertaining.

Wowzer! Djokovic is into his 11th AO Final after beating Sinner in another 5-set Semi-Final today.

30-01-2026, 14:35
as much as I dislike Novak's personality on court ( violin playing, shirt ripping, getting annoyed at the slightest thing, trying to hit the nearest line judge or ball kid, although he's no worse i suppose than the rest of them), that is an amazing victory, and i wish him every success in the final. If he wins, hopefully he'll retire

JAMES4578

Djokovic was in the zone though a few more errors from Sinner, personally hoping he does not take the title .Not sure he would retire at this point but obviously near the end of his career.

Superb from skupski/Harrison, well done!

It was interesting between Rybakina/Sabalenka, looked like Aryna had gained control at 3-0 in the 3rd but fabulous display from Elena to turn it around, great stuff!

A bit late but yes I was very happy for Carlos, great performance and overall achievement :swingin::swingin:

Djokovic started very well but Alcaraz responded magnificently. Mind you he did have to save bp at 4 all in the 4th, had that gone the other way possibly would have gone the distance.
