A bit more straightforward for Andy against Chiudinelli, so should still have plenty in the tank, despite another match in the heat of the day, for an altogether tougher proposition, Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic.

Andy is still behind in the H2H (http://www.atpworldtour.com/Players/Head-To-Head.aspx?pId=MC10&oId=BA47), 1-3, so it's about time he started putting that right!

Berdych is currently ranked #7, and won a title earlier this year in Montpellier.

Will have to record this. Yesterday after the Berrer match, I tried to avoid our chap on reception, who knows I'm an Andy fan, because I'd recorded the match and didn't want him to tell me the outcome. But there he was by the door as I was leaving. Before I could say "don't say a word" he'd said "Well things can only get better for Andy Murray"..........by which I said to him that I took him to mean that Andy had lost (otherwise there'd be a worse as well as a better!) and told him that I'd recorded the match. He looked very sheepish. So I headed home with leaden heart and watched the first 2 sets and most of the 3rd with heart in mouth. Boy did I tell him off when I got to work today. He just grinned and gave me a hug! :lol:

I do think the organisers are making Andy suffer for the comment he made when he lost to Tipsy and for not playing last year. Djoko is their darling because he has won three times in a row and Fed has an apartment in Dubai and trains there for much of the year. I really hope Andy doesn't play next year. I think it was Peter Fleming yesterday that commented on the fact that flying half way around the world for a week's tennis didn't make a lot of sense - it takes its toll on the body and the only person who would approve was Andy's bank manager. I had hoped he would continue his training in Miami and stay there until Indian Wells but then I'm sure Andy has his reasons.

Fabulous that Andy put out Berdy in straights, well done! I was expecting it in all likelihood to be a 3 setter and glad Murray didn't let it go to a decider, though hear the last game was pretty tight! The BBC report talks about him him having trouble with his knee and being in pain, so just hope it is not a major concern. Certainly looks like Andy was in pretty good form!

Thanks, Andy for taking only 10 miutes to win that last game - any longer and I would have missed the winning point as I had to go out! OK Berdych didn't bring his A game but a gutsy performance from Andy to neutralise him a lot of the time. Hope the knee is OK for the next match against Nole (probably). Yet again - well done!
