After all the action at the Australian Open (or lack of depending on how you look at it), it's time for the start of the Masters Series with our first stop in the USA. http://www.smiley-lol.com/smiley/drapeaux/drapeauxus.gif

Again, if you need to remind yourself of the rules or you're new to this competition, then please read the rules posted here (http://www.andymurrayfanforum.com/forums/showthread.php?538-Bubble-Gap-Championship-2012). The aim of this competition is to guess the bubble gap after Indian Wells. The current race rankings are as follows:

The current bubble gap is 425. That's Andy's score(1270) – Almagro's score(845) = 425.

The only tournament left to finish this week is Delray Beach with Kevin Anderson and Marinko Matosevic playing in the final. The result of this match won't affect the bubble gap though. It will only affect the chart if Anderson wins (which will mean he goes up to 18th in the chart).

The highest possible bubble gap is 1415. That's Andy winning the title, Almagro going out in the 1st round and no-one else overtaking him.
Like the Australian Open, the smallest bubble gap is simply 0. That's Andy going out in the 1st round with Del Potro, Raonic and Almagro doing well enough to overtake Andy and Berdych going out in the SF.

Remember that regardless of whether you think Andy will be in the top 8 or outside it, your guess is still a positive number.

So in summary, your guess is between 0 and 1415. If you don't want to do any maths then just guess a random number and see how things turn out!
Remember that you can't guess the same number as someone else and once you've posted your guess you can't change it.

F: 600
W: 1000

After the short break, 19 people make it to Indian Wells for the race. Amongst the group there's one newcomer in 40-15 and also Ace! who, despite having a 2 race ban manages to slip in undetected partly due to head steward rondun being missing (hmmm, wonder if anyone knows where he is...).

Anyway, qualifying is a heated affair and after a close race between eblunt, Yorkie, DaveArneRiise and Linda, eblunt just manages to clinch pole followed very closely by Yorkie.
DaveArneRiise and Linda aren't far behind them and make up the 2nd row.
hfwardhouse and jaysee start behind them followed by AllyB and Sallydaisy.
VamosVixs and JAMES4578 finish off the top 10.

Both the crowd and the drivers are buzzing for an exciting race as the wait for the green light begins...

With Andy out the BG can only decrease now sadly. In fact there is the possibility (although very unlikely) that Andy could fall out of the top 8 in the race now but even if that happens the winners will be the same. Can't even remember the last time that Andy was outside the top 8.

The lights takes ages to change so the drivers amuse themselves by seeing who can perform the best drift. All good fun and games.

When the light finally goes green the drivers up front decide to continue their contest...only to crash straight into the barriers at the first corner. An inevitable pile up occurs and the stewards have no choice but to call off the race. :stretcher:
