Yes, its ATP Bracket Challenge time again.

The first tournament of the year is Indian Wells 8-18th March 2012, picks start from March 6th Tuesday evening East Pacific time (probably early hours of Wednesday UK time).

A fairly short deadline, tomorrow at 7pm GMT.
Done my entry - I won't have time tomorrow so had to do it today. An annoying number of Q v Q matches!

Doubt it, they only played the 1st round qualifying matches last night, 2nd round ones haven't started yet.

Well play for 2nd round matches started at 7.00pm uk time, and the last qualifying matches are third on court. If we says that it takes around 1-2 hours per match then they'll have all the qualifiers decided between 10pm-1am. It's then a case of waiting for the tournament organisers to place them into the main draw which could take goodness knows how long. They should be put into the draw sometime tomorrow though so you should get a chance to see who the qualifiers are and not have to make blind picks.
Just got my entry in but yes the QvQ matches were annoying and I doubt I'll get chance to go back to it.

When will the qualies be put in??
They have been drawn in already, just not updated on the drawsheet. If you go to the IW site you can see the draw with the qualies drawn in, so you can work out which qualies are which from that. Be aware that last time there was some problem with qualie selections last time though.

Its taken them enough time,. I have been having to do it comparing to the draw elsewhere.
1hr 51 minutes to go quite a few still to enter (allyb)
18 minutes to do the bracket draw for IW

Kubot defeats DR Ivo in straight sets which makes it 100% for me thus far. Only 11% picked Kubot too.

I'm 5,000 or so out of 21,000 ish for IW, yet 5,000 out of 30,000 ish for the circuit ? how can there be 9,000 more entered on the circuit if this is the first one ?

Maybe some of the night session matches were still in progress when you got up? 6am here would only be 10pm in I/Wells. I looked and Ace! is still in the lead of our group with 14, 3 on 13, most others seem to have picked up points.

At least Kudla took the 2nd set - he might just prove too much now for Kamke.
I thought Llodra was going for a nice French breadstick to hand to Gulbis but Ernie has got another game on the board.

Kudla beat kamke (LL who took the place of Dima) so that's 3 out of 4 for me tonight so far.
Not too sure about the rest - Bubka and Baggy both squandering 5-0 leads in the first set against Davydenko and Chardy respectively.
If Ernie wins the 2nd set to level at 1-1 I'd bet he'll lose the 3rd to LLodra.
EDIT - Ernie DID win the 2nd. Wonders will never cease.

Whilst I'm annoyed with Bubka for muppeting away a lead, I still prefer to have lost the point rather than compromise my resolve of never picking Davydenko ever again. And my other "never pick" option has come good by losing to LLodra.

I haven't been around to enjoy my good start, sadly

I got Istomin right. Looks like I'm about to be right with Baggy, too, unless Feli makes a miraculous comeback.
ETA - and Baggy wins.

No that was great damage limitation by Ebdon as I had picked Benneteau!! The strange thing is I can't think why I would have picked him over Fish. Was I going mad or did my finger slip? Will never know now but at least it did not matter.
Anyway I still have Isner in the second quarter so now I want Ebdon to give up his run in the next round. How fickle these competitions make us with our favours.

I've sunk rather dramatically back bown the field - dropped about 10,000 places overall. However , with this scoring system, so much can change , with 64 points in total at stake on the two semis and the final. It doesn't really seem right that so much is at stake on just a few matches.

No, I meant your picks to win the sf. Nearly everyone has Andy to get to the semi, so that doesn't lose you much, it's the 30% odd that have him winning who will suffer if Djoko beats Isner/Simon. Thats when you'll start to move up, even more so if Djok wins the final

As ever it will come down to semi & finalists picks but think you will be well placed till then

Yes, it's a bit of a different mentality needed for this scoring system, and a totally different picking strategy to a BOTB pickem. I've still got a chance of winning the AM group, it entirely depends on who wins the SFs and Final. The games not involving my finalists are almost irrelevant.
