The vets are checking the horses today, so fingers crossed they all get through.
GB doing well. 4th in the team event with one more to go, but its close. Fox Pitt is next to go in dressage - in a few minutes.
GB now in bronze medal position.
These are the approximate times the GB riders are doing the cross country - approximately an hour between each one.

Watching this at the mo. I love the course - very creative and beautiful.
Watching this at the mo. I love the course - very creative and beautiful.
It looks quite easy though, compared to some courses. I think they have to make Olympic courses a bit easier than the harder ones like Badminton.
It does look lovely though. Its one of my favourite events to watch.

My sister is a big horse person, she showjumps herself, and she teaches riding at a really lovely place in Scotland and I know she watches these events. I can't believe how packed it is there. Nice that the sun is out.

I used to ride when I was a child and teenager. I used to go and watch the cross country at the Burleigh Horse Trials every year.
Mary King now estimated to ride around 2.15 to 2.17
Mary King will be next to start. The eventing on BBC1 at the moment.
Zara Philips expected around 15.51. BBC3 currently covering it.

Managed to watch Zara. Wow her family came out in droves to see her.
Tina Cook next to start.
The Japanese rider going round now is a budhist monk.
Clear round for Tina Cook and she goes into 3rd position. Team GB go into the lead again but its very close.

Great Britain currently lying in second place over all - and we only have the Germans left to beat - where have we heard that one before!
EQUESTRIAN (10:30-15:35): Team & Individual show-jumping
Forty years have passed since GB last won team eventing gold, but this is their strongest line-up in generations. Mary King, Tina Cook, Zara Phillips, Nicola Wilson and William Fox-Pitt have combined to take Britain into silver-medal position going into the final day, with Cook fifth and King sixth in the individual standings.
Quote from BBC Sport Olympics Day 4 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/19054282) page.
William Fox Pitt next to jump
William jumped clear. Nicola Wilson on now.
Very much advantage Germany as Zara Phillips has 7 faults.
Clear for Mary King.
If the next German goes clear with no time faults then Germany win gold.
And he does, GB looking nailed on for silver though!

For anyone (eg me!) who doesn't quite follow how all this works, Rishi Persad from BBC Sport (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/19037253) puts us all straight:
Q. How does the eventing finale work today?
A. After the two days of dressage and the day of cross country, it's who makes the fewest mistakes that sets up the team and individual medals. On the final day, there are two rounds of showjumping.
In the morning, all the riders whose horses have passed a vet's inspection will go between 10:30 and 13:10 BST, which decides the team gold, silver and bronze. The best (lowest) three scores from the team's five riders count so GB hope their three highest-ranked - Mary King, Tina Cook and Zara Phillips - put in a clear round to have the best chance of a gold medal.
The top 25 riders go onto another showjumping round, starting at 14:30, which helps decide the individual medal. The winner is the individual with the lowest combined total of penalty points.
Simple as that then...

And it's very close at the finish ......... we could yet be pushed out of a team medal.
This is how close it is in the race for silver and bronze medals in the team eventing. With one rider left to go, Great Britain are second, 0.2 of a mark ahead of third-placed New Zealand, with Sweden fourth, 11 points back.
As BBC Sport's equestrian commentator Michael Tucker says, "make a cup of tea because the last three rounds are going to be nerve-racking".

Updates ........
:sofa:
Here we go then. The battle begins for team eventing silver and bronze as Mark Todd of New Zealand enters the arena. They sit third at the moment - just 0.2 of a point behind Great Britain. Todd really needs to go clear to give NZ a chance... but he has already knocked down a fence. Mark Todd got a time fault too, which is good news for GB's hopes of team eventing silver because it means Tina Cook will have a bit more breathing space on her round.
Sweden's Sara Algotsson Ostholt is next up. Any fences down for her, and Britain definitely have a bronze medal at least.
Looks like we might have a team silver!!!

SILVER MEDAL - Great Britain (equestrian team eventing).
:silver:
Tina Cook gets a double clear in the last showjumping round to secure team eventing silver for Great Britain.
This afternoon decides the individual medal winners from top 25 as of now.
Sweden have gone clear but New Zealand didn't.
Tina Cook needs a clear round for silver ...I posted that after we'd won it so I don't know how far behind you are...
:GBflag:GB got the Silver!!!:GBflag:
Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo silver :yahoo: :yahoo: and it was oh so close.
Mary and Tina are in 3rd and 4th position in the Individual. Less than 1 fence between the first 4. If one jumps clear and the others don't then that will be the winner.

Germany won Gold, GB Silver and New Zealand Bronze. I think Sweden were 4th.
No medals in the individual as the ladies in 3rd and 4th both have 2 fences down.

EQUESTRIAN (10:00-15:45): Team GB in the team dressage
Britain's dressage team of Carl Hester, Laura Bechtolsheimer and Charlotte Dujardin are on the verge of making history in their sport. They hold the lead going into Tuesday's final round of the team event, narrowly ahead of Germany. A win would be a first Olympic title for Britain having exploded on to the sport's world-class scene with a succession of talented riders, the latest being Dujardin on Valegro, who set an Olympic record score last week. The 18 best-placed individuals will qualify for Thursday's individual final: the grand prix freestyle.

Unlucky for the Irish in the jump off- well ahead on time going into the last and knocked it down!
My daughter was there today (she went with the group of disabled people that she works for). Shame GB lost out on a medal.

Wow! I've never been to an event like that - I know nothing about show jumping, but I remember watching Nick Skelton when I was a child, so it's incredible that he's still competing!
Did your daughter enjoy it, Linda?
I don't know - she's not home yet! Of course they have to take the disabled people back home first. I expect she'll be back soon.
