Hard lines - she failed to overcome USA's Kayla Harrison - but silver is still a very good result for Gemma :silver:

Wonderful from Jade Jones. I know nothing about Taekwondo, but we now have a :gold: medallist at it!
Loving watching her do a lap of honour round the arena with a Union Flag in one hand & a Welsh Flag in the other :)
Brilliant from Jade, and not at all expected at the start of the event. Really chuffed for her.

TAEKWONDO (09:00-22:45): Sarah Stevenson, women's -67kg; Lutalo Muhammad, men's -80kg
World champion Sarah Stevenson was one of the stories of the Games four years ago when she won bronze after a scoring error was overturned. In the last 18 months she has lost both her parents to terminal illness, won the world title and overcome a serious knee injury.
Lutalo Muhammad will want to prove his controversial selection ahead of world number one Aaron Cook was merited, after a protracted wrangle with the governing body. If successful, Stevenson and Muhammad will take part in preliminary (09:00), quarter-final (15:00), semi-final (17:00) and final (22:15) rounds.

Lutalo Muhammed is out of the Taekwondo. The controversy continues.
Well, it's not actually all over for Lutalo - he went into the repechage and won the next round, so he still has a chance to win bronze.

And win it he does :cheer: :bronze:
Pleased for him after his contentious selection.
