BOXING (14:15, 14:30): Nicola Adams, Natasha Jonas

Both our ladies are through to the quarter finals, Nicola in the Women's Fly (51kg) and Natasha in the Women's Light (60kg), and this afternoon will fight for the chance of a guaranteed bronze medal. In Olympic Boxing, the two semi-final losers don't have to fight each other for bronze, they both get one.

Nicola faces Stoyka Pertova of Bulgaria, and Natasha has a mammoth task in fron of her when she takes on Irish gold-medal hope Katie Taylor.

BOXING (13:45-14:00): Nicola Adams, women's flyweight

Leeds flyweight Nicola Adams has been the most successful of Britain's trio as women's boxing makes its Olympic debut. With a bronze medal guaranteed, she takes on Mary Kom for a place in the gold medal match. Kom is one of India's sporting greats as a five-time world champion. Light-welterweight Tom Stalker is Britain's other fighter in action on Wednesday. He is up against Munkh-Erdene Uranchimeg of Mongolia (22:00), with at least a bronze guaranteed for the winner.

Great for her - & the Irish too, they nearly blew the roof off the place!
Loved the comment about Nicola's mum still worrying about her when she's on a night out!

BOXING (20:45): Luke Campbell, men's bantamweight

The crowd will be something to behold at the ExCel Arena when Britain's Luke Campbell takes on John Joe Nevin of Ireland in the bantamweight (56kg) final. Both teams already have one boxing gold each, through Nicola Adams and Katie Taylor, and the atmosphere for each final was a match for any professional fight. Campbell and Nevin have met twice before, with one win apiece.

I didn't think he'd done quite enough, tbh, but it was 18-18 in the end. How does count-back work in boxing?

best score round by round working backwards ie best last roundI'm not sure what it is exactly, but it's not that.

The commentators said something about the normal scoring being an average of judges that press their little judgy-buttons at approximately the same time, but that countback includes all the individual scores rather than averaging them - not entirely sure I follow, but it makes a certain amount of sense....
