Nottingham has a 2 week slot at very start of the grasscourt calendar with 2 Aegon events being held here. The first week co-incides with the 2nd week of Roland Garros so it attracts many overseas players seeking practice on grass ahead of Wimbledon.
Aegon Trophy: 2nd - 10th June
Mens E64K, Womens $75k
Aegon Nottingham Challenge - 9th - 17th June
Mens E64K, Womens $50k
There will be lots of Brits to watch as well as good main tour players so it's well worth a visit and free to watch most days.

James Ward has been given a Wildcard into Queens so he won't be in Nottingham this week. It's possible one or two other Brits will also be at Queens Qualifying and maybe 1 or 2 other MDWC's so it's uncertain which local lads will be up in Notts.

Draw for ladies singles.
Some interesting ties.
I think Naomi might be in with a shout if her serve is working, and then she might face Heather (but she will be playing someone who has already played 3 grass court matches, so no guarantees there either).
Brianti certainly played well for a set and a half against Aza, but not sure about her grass court game. Wouldn't bet against a re-match for Laura against Karo Plisky 'cause Anne seems to a bit fragile at the moment.
draw is up for the men's - http://www.lta.org.uk/NewWebsite/LTA/Documents/Fans%20News%20and%20Major%20Events/Results/2012/AEGON%20Trophy/Men%27s%20singles%20main%20draw.pdf

Good win for Heather Watson - from Steven on Twitter!
Steven @GBtennis (https://twitter.com/#%21/GBtennis) Nottingham 75K: Great start to the day as @HeatherWatson92 (https://twitter.com/#%21/HeatherWatson92) completes a 46 61 76(5) win against Melanie Oudin :-)

That's a great win for Watson. Oudin is a very talented player.

Oliver Golding won the first set against Lacko before eventually losing in 3. Still very impressive to win a set against the 2nd seed!
Anne has beaten Robbo in straight sets. Pretty error strewn performance that from Robbo.
Goodhall is a break up against Kunitsyn and Baker and Ward are on court warming up.

I hope the weather holds out for you and that you have a great time Sally. Good that they have indoor courts to fall back in mind although they can't be indoor grass courts surely? Anyways have a great day and let us know how it goes! Cheer on them Brits for us :cheer:
I remember going to Nottingham one year and it rained so hard that there were flash floods. All the matches were moved indoors ans the only way to see was to stand in the rain and peer through the glass!! Very wierd for the players with no crowd watching!!
I used to love Nottingham but haven't been for a few years now. I was a linejudge there a couple of times as well back in my officiating days.
Hope your day is not a wash out Sally .....
Just realised there is a livestream while they are playing indoors.

I'm not so surprised by that; yesterday was their first match back after both had injuries so they've probably not got into the swing of things. I guess it means they can head off to Queens to get in some practice there for the 250.
