Goodall now in; list updated.
The draw is out now - http://www.rolandgarros.com/en_FR/scores/draws/qs/index.html
oop for tomorrow - http://www.rolandgarros.com/en_FR/scores/schedule/index.html
3 brits on court 8.
I see our guys are all in action on the same court - 2nd 3rd and 4th matches after 10am - nice and easy to follow!
edit - that's 10am in Paris, so 9am in UK
Jamie Baker won the first set and is into a tb in the second
edit - which he won!
so the score was 6-4 7-6 - well done Jamie!
DaveArneRiise

Do you have a LS link Jan?
Josh Goodall is up next - come on Josh!!
Do you have a LS link Jan?
yes - there are two different ones on the RG website - the first one updates the scores but doens't tell you who's serving - the second has the server but you have to refresh to update the score - odd!!!

DaveArneRiise
23-05-2012, 21:14
See the bolded bits.
Ahh I see lol no doubt the grammar nazizs on twitter would have been quick to slam Andy for that mistake.
DaveArneRiise
23-05-2012, 21:14
Ah, you are correct in that instance!

No, Andy corrected himself immediately on both occasions.

DaveArneRiise
23-05-2012, 21:23

david1610
24-05-2012, 11:29
Well done. That was a bit too close in the first set and just shows being ranked 108 (or thereabouts) versus safely in the top hundred and automatic first round main draw acceptance is a massive difference in terms of points, and, in this case, having to defend first round victory points from last year.
JAMES4578
24-05-2012, 12:24

24-05-2012, 18:24
Well done Laura! That sounds a bit close.
Getting to the main draw by qualifying will be good for Laura.
Laura playes Karolina Pliskova currently ranked 121, her highest ever ranking. 20 years old. Interesting how many seeds did not make it through to fqr. Due to play fourth and last on court 6. (Tommy Haas in the first match believe it or not).
Heather's opponent Anna Floris currently ranked 187 with highest ranking 129 in Sug. 2010. 30 years old.
Heather is the second highest surviving seed (she was seeded 5 )

Lol. I have to go out there in about half an hour.
Been putting it off because I loathe the hot weather; 15 degrees is about my limit of comfort.
Thankfully my abode faces north so I don't get the heat of the sun and the rooms are all cool.
The car is going to be like a sauna! Might zip out to open windows now.

4-4 Well done. Now break and hold. C'mon Laura!
is it right that there's no tb in the final set? Someone's just posted that on bt.net
Right - must hold now Laura
A lot of pressure on Laura then as she's serving to stay in it from now on.

is it right that there's no tb in the final set? Someone's just posted that on bt.net
Do not know but would be surprised: remember men's matches are best of three and they presumably must want to give fqr winners a chance in the first round proper and not have an exhausting 24-22 final set that kills them for the next match.
Stand to be corrected though. Eek 0-30 C'mon Laura!
we might never know. Pliskova breaks to win the 3rd 6-4.
Sooo close Laura - what a shame she couldn't have taken one of those mp's in the second set.

Oh dear. But use the hurt to make sure it does not happen again. Learn from it Laura!
knew it was all to well today
Pity, but she is only 18 - there's always another day. Is she playing in the Juniors?

Doubt it. All about winning matches like this one. But I still think this is still a learning year so would rather this happened this year and she learnt from it for the future.
Pity though. She would enjoy being around the main players next week!
Heather's drawn against Vesnina.
according to Judy's new blog, Laura is first alternate.
judy murray @judmoo
I'm hearing Soler-Espinosa went over her ankle in practice. Bad news for the Spaniard but cud b good news for @laurarobson5.

Neil Harman @NeilHarmanTimes (https://twitter.com/#%21/NeilHarmanTimes)
Hearing that Laura Robson may get into the main draw because of an injury to one of the Spanish players. Unofficially official
Not the best of ways to get into a Grand Slam but injuries happen to the best of them - and someone has to take a place.
Here's hoping for Laura! Not nice for anyone to be injured, but it must happen to virtually every player at some point.

Robbo makes the MD after all :) plays the lady she lost to in R2 at the US open AMG.

Silvia Soler @solerespinosa (https://twitter.com/#!/solerespinosa) Siento dar esta noticia.... Pero... Bye bye Paris....rotura del ligamento tobillo. Espero estar de vuelta pronto!! Un abrazo

Will be a great experience for Laura. Annabel Medina-Garrigues is an excellent player on clay too, so won't be easy. A true vetaran on the red stuff.
Not the best way to qualify for a grand slam tournament, but we'll take it... :)
well at least she's in with a shot - you never know what might happen. I'm pleased for her, though obviously it's a shame when anyone is injured.
The juniors have started today.
Kyle Edmonds beat the 16th seed in 2 sets this morning. :)
Luke Bambridge is currently playing on court 8.

Broady has gone down in straight sets 6-3 6-2 I believe. Disappointing for him.

He said that Andy has been helping him recently too and it's been of great benefit. Seems a really focused, driven young man. I think he has a bright future.
well done Kyle!
edit - just saw that Kyle has lost today - beaten 6-4 6-3 by Coppejans
That's a shame but there's always Wimbledon!

A pity For Kyle, can hopefully build on this at Wimbledon.
I would venture to suggest that just as clay isn't the best surface for Andy, it probably isn't the best surface for our juniors either. Hopefully, they'll feel more at home at Wimbledon.
