FTM - General Discussion New
I was planning to sort out last few tournaments final scoring during Xmas break cos it not complete since unable access threads. I end up being ill with fever for 3 days and then more illness sickness, tiredness, coughing etc and been in my bedroom recovering before Xmas and through whole Xmas (so we didn't have Christmas Day) and I am only just finally out my bedroom today first time over week. Still recovering and I think it is best I leave FTM/FTD until February because I need time to recover and my Mum who got same illness as me and she end up hospital yesterday and getting worse instead of better, thankfully antibiotics works for me but didn't for Mum.
Not very good Christmas or end of year for us and not good start for 2024 either. Hopefully gets better after we all recover.
Re: FTM - General Discussion New
Sorry to hear about your illness Speedy and what a shame it has been at Christmas time and hope you recover fully soon. I do hope your mum feels better soon. There are some nasty viruses going around. I had several really nasty ones this last year including covid for the first time and they took ages to recover from.
Of course we fully understand and just restart FTM when you are ready. And there is no rush to sort out last year's FTM. There are some other comps we can do regarding the Australian Open.
Re: FTM - General Discussion New
Speedy, your health comes first. Take as long as you need. I also got covid for the first time last summer and it wasn't nice. Found out you have to rest(do nothing, as much as possible) to help recover. FTM can continue when you're fully recovered. I don't know about everyone else but I'm struggling to keep up with all the tournaments and time zones at the moment anyway!!
Re: FTM - General Discussion New
(I have posted in WTF 2023 final thread below but best post on here too)
I have been considering this for last few years but I wasn't ready to stop but after last year I keep falling ill etc and struggling so I have been thinking during my recovering (illness I had during Xmas) in January if I wanted to continue FTM/FTD in February or it time for me to stop. I have decided it is time for me to stop 'retire' from FTM/FTD.
I have been doing this since I was teen on Andy Murray official forum probably around 2006/2007 before that forum was shut down because Andy become too famous and popular so forum end up too many spammers, people being mean about Andy etc so he shut down his official forum then group of fans created fan forum to move members over. So many forum changes over years!
I have enjoyed doing this FTM/FTD for roughly about 17 years now.
Thanks to moderators for giving me FTM/FTD section and moderators status so that I can create/sticky/unsticky, etc. It helps a lot!
I will post normally in tennis match threads etc. So I won't be going away.
Re: FTM - General Discussion New
Hope you are feeling a bit better now Speedy, thanks for all your work on FTM! I enjoyed partcipating for a long time though admittedly have not done it for a while.
Re: FTM - General Discussion New
Thanks for the update Speedy. It is very understandable, that you want to stop. Having a chronic illness myself I know how difficult it is to fit in everything you want to do.
I'd like to thank you very much for all the hard work you have put in over the years. It has been appreciated by many people. I do hope you continue to enjoy the forum.
Re: FTM - General Discussion New
Thanks for reply. FTM/FTD wouldn't continue for so long if no one wanted to do predictions so I am grateful people still wanted do it for so long. I honestly didn't expect to last this long time, nearly my whole adult life!
Re: FTM - General Discussion New
Well done Speedy. You have always done a great job. Enjoy your retirement.

Re: FTM - General Discussion New
Thanks Speedy for running these competitions. Whilst I haven’t participated so much over the past year due to being unavailable to update every day, I really enjoyed taking part for many tournaments. Hope you are continuing to recover and enjoy the forum without the pressure.
