YEAH!!! Mark Woodford has just announced we've been given a wildcard along with Spain.
ok, so definitely a group stage in UK for DC 2024!
Will it be Manchester again?
According to the AO Arena in Manchester, nothing happening that week. But, could the LTA look elsewhere?
Does anyone know the date in September yet? Want to book a holiday but don’t want to miss the tie!
10-15 September.
According to the ATP calendar the DC group stage will be immediately after the US Open so GB will play 3 group ties at a venue in Britain during the week beginning 9th September so if you want to attend do not book holiday till after 15th September.
Thanks both of you for that info
Is the Emirates Arena in Glasgow free during that week? If it is, I think they might choose it and either get Andy Murray to turn up and do a celebration of his career or get him to play and then celebrate his career.
I saw it is rumoured to be in Manchester again
I thought the original idea was to take it to different cities around the country so maybe somewhere other than Glasgow or Manchester? If it is Manchester again I hope they will have the food and water situation better sorted.
I still remember when they used to choose either Birmingham or Glasgow. Maybe they'll go for Manchester, again, and I agree with you about the water situation. I remember turning up, one day, and there was hardly any water. You never know, they might surprise us and have a different city host it.
Manchester is confirmed.
So the rumour about Manchester was correct
Is it because of last year? I know they claimed it was a sell out everyday.
Is it because of last year? I know they claimed it was a sell out everyday. I'll be going.
I've already booked my hotel in Manchester.
The DC Group for Manchester is Canada, Finland, Great Britain and Argentina.
Bologna has Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil.
Valencia has Australia, Czechia, France, Spain.
Zhuhai has Germany, USA, Slovakia, Chile.
Can anyone tell me please the name of a hotel nearest to where the tennis will be played? Thanks
Silverdee - you'd be best just to go on Booking.com and put in Manchester and the name of the Arena.
It will show you nearest hotels, prices and availability.
Even if someone on here tells you the nearest hotel they might not know if it has rooms free.
Thank you Sally
Only managed to get to final day, the Sunday, for last years tie in Manchester, was away on holiday. Made no mistake this year and have kept the whole week free, Monday to Sunday!
Been looking at the format and see that GB will play 3 times, on separate days, and top 2 teams progress to final.
Am still puzzling as to how to work out how many nights I need a hotel and trying to work out if I should make multiple bookings for different number of nights. Might just be simpler to book hotel Tuesday to Sunday = 6 nights. Unless anyone has any tips?
Who knows when the schedule for the week will be announced but in both 2022 and 2023 the GB matches were Wednesday, Friday, Sunday so hopefully it might be the same again.
Thank you for that info.
Last year the schedule was announced on 18th May
Thanks, very useful to know that date.
Schedule confirmed as Wednesday, Friday and Sunday for Team GB.

Team named as Draper, Norrie, Evans, Salisbury and Skupski.
Not much of a surprise, anyway all the best to the Team!
I had an automated phone call, yesterday, from Ticketmaster saying I'd received an email from them about some kind of change. When I had a look at the email, they'd moved my seat for our tie against Finland closer to the court.
I see the team now is Draper, Evans, Harris, Skupski and Patten.
This is what it says on the BBC website about the team. h ttps://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/articles/cpvywvndj3jo

GB in the same group as Canada, Argentina and Finland.
This is how the player selections currently look.
R1: GB2 Dan Evans v Eero Vasa WR703
R2: GB1 Billy Harris v Otto Vertanen
DOUBLES: Neal Skupski/Dan Evans v ???
This could be changed .....
Jack Draper and Harry Patten not yet listed to play but both are there as part of the team.
Good Luck GB!!!
:GBflag:
Canada beat Argentina 2-1. will a rematch between Dan & Denis be on the cards. Hope that Umpire Gabas isn't in the chair.
GB are 2-0 up after Billy Harris beat Otto Virtanen 6'4, 7'6(4)
The doubles has just started with a change to the Finnish team.
Evans/Skupski v Heliovaara/Virtanen (i/o Niklas-Salminen).
Finland win the doubles and celebrate like they won the tie...
pity it was not a clean sweep but well done in the Singles, tougher initially for Dan that might have bewen expected but got off to a good start that Billy took advantage of.
