Kyle Edmund won the 25k Loughborough Challenger last week, beating Powelski of Poland in the final.
That's good news. Hope Kyle gets back to the main tennis circuit soon.
Kyle wins the 25k in Sunderland, beating GB compatriot Hamish Stewart in 3sets
Heather Watson was beaten in singles qualifying in WTA Charleston but is now in doubles quarter final playing with Olivia Nicholls.
Hopefully goes better for Heather in the Doubles!
Kyle Edmund currently playing in the 75K Challenger in Cassis France. Came through qualies, won 1st round main draw and in second round plays Marin Cilic ! 2 former top twenty players now slugging it out in challengers. Cilic currently ranked 1082, Kyle #452. not due to play until tomorrow.
Tough one, still Kyle making some progess. Cilic played Australian open using protected ranking (lost 1st Round) and in May had another knee surgery.
Cilic wins in two. still onwards and better to be losing in Challengers than still playing ITF's.
A pity but hopefully on upwards curve. see Cilic lost in the next round though.
Congratulations are due to Jan Choinski for winning the Challenger 100
in Tulln, Austria, which sees him shoot up 100 places in the rankings.

Jake Fearnley notches up another Challenger Title!!!
:trophy:
Beats Mayot 6'3, 7'6(5) and that'll take him into the top 100 on Monday!
Well done Jake.
We have three playing in finals today - Jamie (with John Peers in Basel), Neal Skupski (In Vienna with Michael Venus) and Jack Draper (also in Vienna).
I wish them all the very best of luck and am looking forward to watching them.
certainly good results, hopefully all do well!
Is anyone in Glasgow free this afternoon to see 2 more Brits in a Challenger Final?
If so you could probably mosey along to Scotstoun and watch
Marcus Willis, GBR/Kirkov,USA v Jonathan Paris/Cuklerman,ISR playing the Final.
EDIT - too late probably, they've just started!
BUT you can watch it on the ATP Challenger TV right now.
:p
Wlllbomb & Kirkov took the first set 7'5. They're 2-1 up on serve in the 2nd set.
Parris (GBR) and Cukierman take the win in Glasgow over Willis & Kirkov.
Cash/Glasspool d Salisbury/Skupski, in the battle of the Brits, to take the doubles title in Doha, Qatar.
:trophy:
Turned out to be fairly straightforward for Cash/Glasspool who take the title 6-3,6-2 . Figured it would have been a tighter contest.
Olivia Nicholls is in the women's doubles at Indian Wells. Starts 6 pm tonight.
Fearnley and Norrie both made it into round 2 in Geneva, as did Raducanu in Strasbourg.
Several British men will be in doubles in Hamburg this week.
Thanks for that information. I'll change the thread title to reflect it's now 2025!
Cameron vs Djokovic in Geneva - not before 3 pm.
Not till 3.10 now says on tv screen. Wonder what the hold-up is - could make a few suggestions!! :)
Djokovic won ... 6'4, 6'7(6), 6'1
but Cam made it difficult for those first 2 sets.
certainly was tight for a while, Djokovic though got early break in 3rd and Cameron did not stay with him.
Thought Cameron played well, shame about the 3rd set but Cam did well in those first two sets.
Cameron Norrie now ranked 60 and Jacob Fearnley 49. :)
Sonay Kartel now ranked 50. :)
Well done to them. Things are looking brighter and hoping Jack continues to win matches and stay within top 5.
Hopefully we will now get more brits automatically getting into tournaments instead of having to qualify.
Emma Raducanu joins Sonay Kartal in the 3rd round of the China open. Sonay beat 14th seed Kasatkina 6-3 6-0 and Emma beat qualifier Bucsa 6-3 6-3.
Emma lost to Jess Pegula despite having match points in set 2 but Sonay is in the last 16 of the China open.
Cash/Glasspool gave a walkover to Khachanov/Rublev in the quarter final. Heliovaara/Patten are in the semi final.
Mihalikova/Nicholls are in the women’s quarter final.
Good to see Sonay through, well done! certainly unfortunate for Emma as she lost to Pegula 3-6,7-6,6-0. obviously Jessica is a top player but somewhat frustrating that Emma fell away.
Oh wow! Sonay has just beaten Mirra Andreeva, 4th seed, 7-5 2-6 7-5 and I think will go just above Katie in live rankings at 60!!!!!!
A fabulous win for Sonay and did not expect that,Andreeva though having a few earlier exits recently.
Sonay Kartal v Linda Noskova start at 08.00 UK time.
It was 3-3 but Sonay has just been broken so the Czech player will serve at *4-3 after the change of ends.
It took Sonay 3 sets to beat Andreeva in the previous round so there's time yet ...
Oh dear, that didn't take long ... Noskova takes the first set 6'3 v Kartal.
Noskova won 6-3 6-4.
A pity but still a good run for Sonay which should build on!
just a shout out to Emily Webley-Smith, aged 41 and 26 years after making her professional debut, reached her first WTA Tour doubles final at the Jiangxi Open.
Unfortunately her rand partner Ekaterina Ovcharenko lost in two. But still, perseverance !
