Pity they had to meet so early but was edging towards Kyle and did expect him to win on clay, well done! Dan though certainly seems to have improved on this surface, pity though he couldn't really challenge when Edmund got going.
Kyle definitely not 'king of the smash' today, but I did enjoy his reaction when he finally nailed one in the final game! Hard match to take sides. My head said Kyle should win, but my heart would have loved to have seen Dan win! Anyway, upwards and onwards Kyle! Give Rafa a tough time! You can do it!
Smart meter was installed at the wrong time!! Only managed to watch first 10 games before everything had to be turned off.Didn't know who to support though thought Kyle would probably win. I do like Dan!
Always difficult when two Brits play each other. I would have been pleased whoever won. Wonder what chance Kyle has against Rafa.
I watched it. Have to be said I was rooting for Dan, just because I like his maverick attitude.
enjoyed it, thought Kyle would win based just on preferred surfaces, but thought Dan looked good out there although I have to confess do have a soft spot for Dan
however well done Kyle, onward and upward, relish the opportunity and learn from it, win or lose
I didn't know who I wanted to win this one until Kyle was losing in the first set and then I realised I wanted him to win. He started playing well later in the first set. He seems to play better when well in front. I guess it's a confidence thing, but he will need to overcome it, if he is to keep improving. Sadly the prize is a match with nadal which I think will be too big an ask. Hopefully he can play well though.
Didn't mind who won but was pleased to see Dan looking more comfortable on clay (at least he was in the 1st set). Liked Kyle's reaction when he finally played a successful smash, he can seem a bit flat on the court but I think he's getting more comfortable at showing his personality. Rafa will likely be a match too far but it's all good experience and a learning curve in progressing to the top of the game. Think I read somewhere that this win takes Kyle back to Brit no.2 - anyone know if that's right?
Yes it is. Kyle goes up to 42 with dan at 43
