Re: Non Tennis News 2
As this has now gone 'National' I'm sure many of you are aware of the tragedy that befell Adam Johnson, a player for my team the Nottingham panthers, on Saturday night during a game in Sheffield. In what has been described by many as a 'freak incident' Adam, an American playing his first season in the UK league, was accidently caught in the neck area by an opponent's skate. He attempted to skate off the ice but collapsed on his way to the team bench. he was rushed to hospital but failed to recover from the injury and died during the night. He was 29.
The incident has left the British Ice hockey scene in complete shock, and tributes have poured in from around the world.
I've tried to post a link to one of the tributes to give an example, but unfortunately the forum isn't playing ball. Again.

Re: Non Tennis News 2
It was an awful thing to happen, especially as he is so young. I feel sorry for the guy who he collided with too.

Ah, the Tutti Frutti man - amongst his many talented offerings.
Loved that series, it made stars of Emma Thompson and Robbie Coltrane.

He was also a very talented artist - designed album cover for Beatles among others - and friend of Gerry Rafferty and of Billy Connolly for whose 75th birthday he created some murals on gable ends in Glasgow.
