Welcome Tiago :)
Hello all, Andy fan since his first Wimbledon, So am not quite sure why it has taken me so long to find this forum! Anyway better late than never.
I live in Cheshire and am a veteran of many hours of the traumas of watching Andy. I suspect I am one of the few Andy fans who has yet to see him win a grand slam having had some misfortune in terms of access to TV or internet on each occasion.
The US Open 2012 I watched the first three sets in the pub but sadly the landlord didnt fancy a late one so a rush home to listen to the final set on the radio...
Wimbledon 2013 I was at the RAF Waddington Air Show, Where I had the honour of being one of the Vulcan to the Sky team, and had to endure one of the guys wife commentating the last game on his mobile....it was far from ideal though not many can say they were stood under a Vulcan bomber when Andy won his first Wimbledon. Ironically approx 10 mins later we discovered that one of our volunteers who had rocked up in their motor home had indeed watched the whole match on the TV in said motor home, a mere 50yards from where we stood, we even saw one of our aircrew going in there, a Scotsman and a Andy fan and we didnt cotton on. Doh!
Wimbledon 2016 sadly no Vulcan to disrupt my sport viewing however a few of the Vulcan team decided to attend the air tattoo at Fairford to sample simply being spectators rather than participants, however now having a modern phone I was confident of being able to watch Andy whilst also enjoying the sights and sounds of Typhoons, F16s, Spitfires and so on, having ones cake and eating it perhaps (well drinking beer)...alas no network coverage! Radio five live on the car radio it was then.
So how about the Aussie Andy, needless to say I have not missed any of those finals.....so common Andy break my curse.
:welcome: to the forum Donald Grump :)
Welcome DonaldGrump. Hopefully you will get to see Andy win a Grand Slam soon.
My husband loves the Vulcan. He was in the USAF stationed at RAF Upper Heyford and volunteered at the Air tattoo's and other UK air shows where he worked with a group of Brits who became friends. :)
Welcome Donald Grump. I was on the Isle of Arran during the first Wimbledon, sans phone. The relief when we got back to base and I could reclaim my phone, and saw the result flash up is impossible to describe unless you are a SAM fan.
Welcome to the forum... Enjoy, they are a great bunch of people;)
Welcome DonaldGrump. Let's hope you have multiple opportunities to watch Andy win a GS this year!
Welcome Donald!
