I found the Rafa tribute incredibly sad. I was no fan of 3 of them, but it really hit home what we have lost. I can’t see Djokovic going on beyond this year. Then the “Big 4” will be truly history.

Certainly the Rafa tribute was moving and good to see Andy there as well as Federer and Djokovic .whatever our views on each of them they were part of a great era and Andy was very much part of that (even if he was not close in terms of slam victories). Djokovic must also be in twilight of career even though he took his 100th title in Geneva. However time moves on and I have comes to terms with it and support a number of the new generation.
Emma takes the first set 7-5.

but held to take the 3rd set, and match, 7'5, 4'6, 6'3.
Toughed it out after having medical checks at the end of the first set (blood pressure and oxygen levels). She'll need to find some grit for the next match - R2 against Iga Swiatek!!!

Jacob Fearnley has just taken out Stan the man in straight sets.
Well done Jake!!!
Maybe time for Stan to bow out too???
He's just one of the 'few' who managed to win a Grand Slam (or 3) during the "reign" of the big 4!!!
(along with Cilic and Del Potro who won 1 each).
Meanwhile Richard Gasquet walks out onto Chatrier for possibly his last ever match ...
... to a stadium 1/2 empty.
Hope he gets a few cheers if he wins against compatriot Altmane!
