Poor Kyle, the effects of a virus can really linger  In fact, poor tennis players in general - so many of them pick up nasty viral infections. I feel really sorry for them, in an individual sport so much is lost so quickly when ill or injured. Get completely well soon, Kyle
Certainly not gone so well for Kyle in US swing but obviously the ailments he's had lately may well have had taken their toll, clearly a problem today.
Commies were mentioning that Kyle has tonsilitis several times - including since Wimbledon. I wonder if he has this persistently.
Sorry to see Kyle struggling at the moment. Only saw the first set because of Andy's match starting but sounds like he was struggling physically. I saw an interview where he said he's had tonsillitis twice this year. If it's persistent he may have to consider having them removed, though I know that's not as recommended as it used to be. Hope he recovers for DC
I have to wonder whether, given Kyle's comments about taking time to get back to full fitness, he will consider skipping DC. Although conditions in Glasgow won't be anything like those in NY
He also has Laver Cup?
Yes, a tight schedule so perhaps he might give DC a miss. It will be interesting to see what he chooses to do.
A bit of scepticism on social media that Kyle wasn't fit for DC but a few days later is fit for Laver Cup ... I know a few days can make the difference but the timing is unfortunate as it doesn't particularly look good.
I'd be more bothered if we'd lost. I think there's something to be said for putting out a team that is "good enough" in order to bring players on. Either Dan or Cam would have missed out, and both had morale-boosting wins.
