Kyle played very well in the first set but Berrettini just upped his game in the second.
But is now 2 points from defeat
Edit - Kyle has lost, sadly.
Alas, Kyle loses the third set 4 - 6 :crying: I'm beginning to feel quite sorry for him
Berrettini gets the win, just a stronger player than Kyle.I have to admit I'm not a lover of Kyle's tennis but I do feel quite sorry for him, Kyle, is going to have to do some thinking!!
Did not see the match but losing narrowingly to Berrettini looks like one of Kyle's better performances lately. However obviously disappointing the run of losses continue, needs clear plan for moving forward.
I hope by next year Kyle has a plan in place, including a good coach, fitness and sports psychologist. 8 losses in a row is a monkey on his back that has to be dealt with before he can move on. Watched the match yesterday and his game is still there, but only at times. Almost undisciplined. I really wish he well and hope he can turn this around somehow. He's talented and still young. Almost an irony the he won Antwerp 2018 and this year Andy unexpectedly roars back to take it!
I do wonder with Kyle, if part of the problem is he began to believe the hype. Perhaps he couldn't cope with pressure and expectations associated with it. Dan has a much more realistic take on it.
He looks fed up and forlorn even when he's winning. Coach likewise. He had something but it's not there right now that's for sure.
Kyle, playing Berankis in Paris, takes the first set 6 - 4. Well done.
